Feb 07 13 04:36 pm Link orias wrote: Been looking at both KEH and EBay Feb 07 13 05:23 pm Link Carl Roberts wrote: Ha ha ha ha ha ha ha, sorry Carl but this is kinda funny. As much as I would hate a cancelation, this one is interesting! Feb 08 13 11:08 am Link orias wrote: Something to keep in mind is even filmmakers have been using the likes of 5d's to make their films. House used them for half of their last season. Might consider renting one to help make up your mind Feb 08 13 11:33 am Link Tropical Photography wrote: that's a very good plan thx Feb 08 13 12:16 pm Link One of the issues with using the DSLRs is the autofocus (or lack thereof) in video mode. The pros that are using them are usually pretty skilled at balancing zoom and manual focus on the fly. Feb 08 13 02:57 pm Link Koryo Photography wrote: true.... and i feature a distinct degree of laziness of camera operation when shooting as i tend to have to tripod it and run around behind the scenes grabbing props and stuff Feb 08 13 03:43 pm Link orias wrote: If memory serves me correct, the newer Nikons have AF for their video.. Canon has seemingly stuck with the way the pros do it while Nikon has offered a system more geared to the amateur video person.. Nothing wrong with that, just different philosophies and I think you said you were looking at Nikon anyway.. Feb 08 13 03:58 pm Link my d7000 w/50mm f/1.4 manual focus lens, produces a very high quality video. here's a short movie with the same equipment http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=rMbBKukJzBk and another http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=uedydadqPng Feb 08 13 04:05 pm Link Well sure Keith...if ya put it like that Feb 08 13 04:10 pm Link Koryo Photography wrote: Hard for the salesperson to step aside sometimes.. LOL!!! And actually, I'd love it if Canon gave the choice of AF or full manual on their video.. I understand they want to keep it highbrow, but the average person isn't going to spend what it takes to do it properly or sadly, take the time to learn manual focusing of video.. Feb 08 13 04:13 pm Link Sunday is looking like a pretty good day for a sunrise beach photo shoot. Just sayin' and that's ALL I'm sayin' on the matter. Feb 08 13 04:36 pm Link Tropical Photography wrote: yea i started with nikon film and then went to nikon digital. i just prefer their button setup and menu navigation and am too stubborn to relearn all that stuff lol S W I N S K E Y wrote: yeah i have actually been heavily considering the 7000 and am hoping to get my hands on one at the largo show for a decent price perhaps Tropical Photography wrote: yeah ive always been a fan of options. plus i'm paying a fortune for studio time, model time, props, etc. and i'm not risking my wallet on my visual impairment to end up with crap ass video Feb 08 13 05:10 pm Link So, I used to use rechargeable batteries in my SB800 flash. Then sometimes the batteries would die but look like they charged just fine but in reality they were permanently dead etc...so I went back to normal AA batteries. If you go to the wrong place they can be wicked expensive! Home Depot has them priced well on a consistent basis and I just picked up a 36 pack of Energizer for $13.98! That's pretty darn good. Feb 08 13 05:31 pm Link OwenImages wrote: ive always sorta hated most of the standard sized (AA, AAA, etc.) rechargeable batteries. Feb 08 13 06:26 pm Link Not sure about the Largo show that KEH will be at, but typically they don't sell they only buy.. Main reason they don't sell, they haven't tested the shit yet.. LOL!! Now, and I have seen this happen, if you see someone with something you like, see if they will make a deal with you... Have them find out what KEH is going to offer and then offer them 10-20% up... Thing is, most likely KEH will be paying in cash.. Cash is king.. Feb 08 13 06:34 pm Link Tropical Photography wrote: As an aside, Minnireg Hall has a pretty decent burger and fries... So to make it to 175 shots I would swap batteries after 100 shots. Aren't you a Canon shooter?...results may vary...and not sure if your flash accepts 4 batteries or 5 like mine can which would make a difference. Also depends on if the flash is firing at full power each time. Feb 08 13 10:30 pm Link Chris Rifkin wrote: No problem at all...they can sit in your bag for a month and still get that...well worth the couple extra dollars. Feb 08 13 11:39 pm Link Here's the question for everyone... Will "SHE" show up in 12 hours for a sunrise beach shoot? LOL! Feb 09 13 02:37 pm Link Anyone want to meet up for quality nourishment? Burger? Wings? WH 4th Street or WH Ulmerton? Feb 09 13 03:06 pm Link I'm clearly having a fun conversation with myself in here. Anyway, I just got the message... SHE'S SICK with either food poisoning or a stomach virus. I hope she feels better. It looks like I will be sleeping in when the weather looks perfect for a sunrise beach shoot. If it's too good to be true... LOL Feb 09 13 05:17 pm Link OwenImages wrote: Well, food poisoning would be out of her system by morning.. Stomach virus possible not... I'm going with she really didn't want to get up early.. And I can't say I blame her.. Feb 09 13 06:23 pm Link Less than ten posts and this thread goes over 10,000... Feb 09 13 09:16 pm Link I use exclusively Energizer rechargeables in my Yongnuo speedlights. I consistently get 250-300 shots on one charged set of four. I always carry two charged sets, plus an emergency set of Duracell AAs, but have never had to use them. Love me some rechargeables.
