I wouldn't mind meeting Jake on July 6th or 7th if he's around.  He does not have to get all dressed up in assless chaps for me though.

ABC News just said Saturday and Sunday evening there is a strong chance for thunder storms along the beaches.

First this made me think, cool, maybe I can get lightning photos around sunset on the beach, that would be cool.

Then I thought, are you freaking kidding me?  The weather is hardly ever right, exactly anyway with just cloud coverage, when they are talking about the next 12 hours!!!  Now this guy is naming specific days, specific times and specific location (West of Tampa right along the coast over the beaches)!!!!!  That is 4 and 5 days out!!!!  Are you kidding me?!

I guess we will see...

Not even out over the water, just kind of ... Up...on the beach

It's pretty amazing, the standard side of the road fireworks goes up about 100 feet
Which coincidentally is about how high 11 stories is

So they are literally exploding at eye level

And right next door is the city of Redington fireworks display, again, right on the beach

I will be on the 11th floor of a Sand Key Beach condo for fireworks on the 4th, looking out the intracoastal side north at the big Clearwater Fireworks they do.  So, I can't meet up on the 4th or 5th but I can meet on Saturday or Sunday.

Hmmm Carl... last year if I recall... we tried and did actually come out to the beach for your shindig... problem was ... there wasn NO parking i mean zip zero nada!!.. Even the places you mentioned were filled to the brim... so would love to but unless you have a shuttle or open spots in your condo .. would be difficult to manage for us anyway..

Even the power of cheetos and oreo cookies is limited. One llama said she had a business meeting and the other was bitten by mosquitos in the woods. Well all roads now lead to Geneva. Thinking of cosplay. Any of you dig it?

For those that shoot and DO NOT have boats...

I see on Groupon deals to rent power boats that will carry 10 people.  2hours $59, 3hours $79, 4hours $119, 8hours $219...

Some of these are limited to week days like the $59 deal but 2 hours is too short anyway...

But this gets me thinking.  A small island shoot at sunrise or sunset, a couple of photographers (the cost comes close to zip) and a couple of models etc and this could be fun.  What small private island would you go to?...assuming privacy at sunrise but not so much at sunset unless you are just crazy lucky during a weekday.  Beer Can Island / Shell Key are heavily visited ... what other options?  Any boaters out there that know of great locations?

Didn't used too, may have now  .  .  .  I'm not allowed out much in a boat over there anymore  .  .  .  course, ya could always "pirate" a ship and park 'er in da bay da night afore, then you'd be da furst ashore  .  .  .  crap, now I need some rhum de Barbancourt, happens every time I talk "pirate"  .  .  .  wink

How big a boat is this?
I used to have a 32 foot Chris Craft Scorpion with twin 200 mercs and I would not have put 10 people on that and gone out in the gulf

That must be a big boat

Surprising for that price
