OK So apparently the support for Windows XP is ending Has anyone figured out where is the best place to get an upgrade? I'm bummed because the XP Pro I'm running has been bug free forever

I would just be diligent about backing stuff up but until the beast really dies or you can no longer use software or things like printers/scanners, etc, I wouldn't worry about it.. But if you want to upgrade, I would think you should be able to do it yourself.. Just back up..

Wow...that's a big number I'm sure this is all just a racket to make money by forcing people to upgrade their OS to one that does not work as well My concern is that without the Windows updates the hackers are going to find a way in. But beyond that, yeah it's fantastic program. I was just wondering if anyone found a cheap reliable place to buy the update I saw somewhere they were giving a $150 refund on an update Just asking to see what's out there

Microsoft may say there isn't support but I suspect their maybe for select groups. Which makes you wonder if they created decent upgrades they wouldn't have had so many people staying on XP..

Looks like the upgrade software is $199.00 But a new tower can be had for $500.00 And it's 5 years newer, got 8GB of RAM and 2 TB of storage Seems like a bit of a no brainer, I should just go ahead and get the tower But then if I do, I need to upgrade my Word to Word 13 That's $250.00 So now instead of 200 vs 500 It's 200 vs 750 That's a harder decision

Have you checked to see if you could get by using Apache Open Office instead of Word? I bought a new computer last month to replace the previous one that was overheating. I tried Open Office when I got the last computer (4 years ago) and couldn't stand it, but tried it again with this new one and the changes made it much closer to Microsoft/easier to use.

In fact, at Office Depot, if you complain about the upgrade cost enough, it is within the manager's power to give it to you FREE! Go shopping Carl.

So, I'm on my way to Ireland for 8 days & have a question. Is Guinness a drink or do they just fry it up & serve it for breakfast?

And typically it's served with some Jameson.. But do have lunch in one of the pubs.. The food is surprisingly good and they serve a mighty full plate.. And don't be surprised to see American Budweiser being sold as a premium beer.. I nearly hurled when I heard that and then saw it with my own two eyes.. Smithwicks is very nice and no where near as heavy as Guinness.. And if you're not renting a car, transportation between cities really kinda sucks.. In city it's very good.. And do pay attention to the the arrows on the road as they will point you in the direction you should look before crossing a street.. Otherwise, you risk getting your ass run over looking the wrong way... LOL!! OH!! And gaelic is still widely spoken there and in some smaller cities, that's pretty much what you'll hear and all the signs are in..
