I am starting my pro makeup classes and I am very happy about it.
I modestly know I have a long way to go... but I want to start to think and plan ahead time about which products to buy to build my  professional portfolio, because I know it can be very expensive. I know talent is gifted and it also can be learned with practice and hard work. I am eager to learn and do well. I want to make sure to have a good and professional kit since I believe it is important to have good products to provide a quality finished work. I am perfectionist lol.
Please I only know Mac and makeup for ever and I do not know which one is better or any other recommendations on others products.
So, if you can help me it would be  really great. I want to make sure I spend my money wisely. Thank you so much
smile)

Some of my faves apart from MAC and MUFE are Illamasqua, Chanel, urban decay, inglot, MUD, Yaby, Occ, suqqu, bobbi brown, laura mercier and various others I would just use certain products from like Benefit or clinique. Femme have good palettes if your just starting out, cheap for a students budget!
But it's always better to try and test for yourself. Hit the counters and ask for samples before you make a big purchase. I'd also recommend searching youtube, There are some great Gurus on there to help you along your way!
Best of luck smile

For foundations, the best for your money is Mehron HD Pro. They have a good range of colors and you can't beat only $10 each..... Vs. Mskeup Forever or something similar for $40 each. Also Inglot shadows and cream liners are the best and great value for money!! NYX also has some fab quality makeup for amazing prices! I started building my kit a few months ago and have just about everything I need now, if you have any other questions PM me! :-)

Mary has put together some pretty amazing kits to get you started. It contains everything you need to get started & they are well worth the money.

KJB's inmykit.com is amazing as well.

Mary has pretty much anything that you could possibly need and pre-made kits as well.
KJB's site is a no-holds-barred list of tried and true products that hold up to the demands of active makeup artists in many fields (print, commercial, film, blah blah blah)

Jordan lists everything you could possibly need asside from the typical makeup paraphenalia (foundations, shadows, etc) that you normally see a need for in a shoot.

My rec:
Try to get multi-tasking products... It will save you money in the long run and your back from carrying around everything...  the weight of products adds up quickly!

Good luck with everything and practice practice practice...

I likely have a much different kit that many of the other artists here.  If you ever want to know what I keep in my "Road Kit" for effects makeup, let me know.
