I like the antenna. Feb 21 12 09:11 am Link Leggy Mountbatten wrote: Didn't happen with the Nikon version, it did happen with Canon's RF noisy flash units. Some of the issues were not PW's fault although you'd have thought they'd have identified the problem before releasing the product. Feb 21 12 12:02 pm Link More channels, check Cheaper, check Internal antenna, check How is this bad. I sort of understand a lot of folks don't need more, I thought the same until I moved into a great historic building with 3 other studios in range. But a lower price and design is a good thing even if it was just the same old IIs. The only drawback is that the professional lights manufactures still tend to only put in the 4 channel versions (and my meter). I don't have PlusII PW but i have 2 PW MultiMax, and TTL PWs for Canon, what will this PlusIII has as advantage? Feb 21 12 04:38 pm Link Jean-Claude Photo wrote: +1 Feb 21 12 07:02 pm Link I did see an interesting comment somewhere... the new PWIII has the display on the left side of the unit, so if the camera is mounted on a tripod in typical portrait orientation (such as matching the vertical release buttons on grips) it seems that users would need to kneel or lay on the ground to get low enough to see/read the controls that are on the *side* of the PW. This PWIII is rotated 90 degrees - so the sides are facing front and back; supposedly the profile will block less of the view over the top of the camera. Don't know what to think about that, have to twist the camera to look at the display and work the buttons. As you said, you'd think they'd have tested it with Canon's flagship flash unit before releasing it. Feb 21 12 07:24 pm Link AVD AlphaDuctions wrote: Fool me once... Feb 28 12 05:05 am Link I've learned to hate the sideways facing feature of the Plus III. What's sideways in landscape mode becomes DOWNWARD facing in portrait mode! Or upward if your mount will work that way. Either way it becomes non user friendly. If anyone ever makes an adaptor to mount it correctly I'll be the first to buy one.
