Didn't happen with the Nikon version, it did happen with Canon's RF noisy flash units. Some of the issues were not PW's fault although you'd have thought they'd have identified the problem before releasing the product.

I wondered about that. This PWIII is rotated 90 degrees - so the sides are facing front and back; supposedly the profile will block less of the view over the top of the camera. Don't know what to think about that, have to twist the camera to look at the display and work the buttons.

It didn't happen with the Nikon version because it came out well after the Canon version. As you said, you'd think they'd have tested it with Canon's flagship flash unit before releasing it.

As for Canon's "noisy" flash, in fact, it's just the opposite. Canon changed the recharging frequency so it would no longer be audible. I love this feature, though I suspect it's what's generating the interference PW didn't bother to account for when designing their triggers.

Yeah, there are a lot of little "improvements" that are kinda annoying.

The sideways facing thing is a pain.

Another I found recently was going to shoot with someone else, to put all of my units onto the same channel as the other person, i had to turn each unit on, press the buttons to move to the different channel, and then turn the ones I wasn't going to use back off... with something like a Plus II, you just move the switch whether the units are on or off... quite simple.
