I'd respond but I'm afraid you're too old to understand.

/kidding

I can understand where she is coming from....but I don't agree.  Sounds like she simply has a different set of priorities.  I imagine she saved yourself a poor shoot.

OMG I have to cancel my shoot with you as I just read your front page thing wow your as old as my grandpa ,
so it's feels really weird to be naked , I think you do beautiful pics

sorry hope you understand xxxxxxxxxxxx

, I sort of do under stand but dam now I feel really old LOL

does any one else think that maybe you can be become to old to shoot nudes,
my work is more erotic than just nude maybe she thinks I should not still be thinking like that ,

thoughts any one  I have also told her I just put it on the forum maybe she will come in and reply , I am not upset just make s me think

That she would start a sentence with "OMG" is a sign of her immaturity!  I feel just a little bit sorry for her as she is so narrow minded that she will miss out on a great opportunity to work with you.  Her loss, not yours!  Your work is great!

I  believe in happy endings..at least sometimes...She will come to her senses and be apologetic, you (being old LOL) will shrug this as sign of youthful immaturity, you will shoot and results will rock. Just like the "brick" glitch.

Someone point her to this thread wink

I have to agree with the others who said she is the one with the problem, and is acting immature and unprofessional by using that as an excuse to cancel a photo shoot with one of the best photographers around.

So far, I have never run into that situation, and I always make it a point to tell all prospective models up front that I am old enough to be their father or grandfather. Typically the youngest models I work with are around 30 though, so by that time they are mature enough to realize it makes no difference.

It didn't hurt Helmut Newton's work.

I think that this just caught you off guard. Especially when it's related to your passion. I wouldn't sweat it. There will always be the shallow who think pervert because of senior age or pervert if you don't meet someone's expectations in the looks department, old, young, color etc. Just let your work speak for itself, and if she come back, charge her.

I think in many cases we get better at our art as we mature.   Many of the greatest photographers, painters, and writers have done their best work in their twilight years.

Actually, I just looked it up in the book, and it turns out you ARE too old to be shooting nudes. Says it could do dangerous things to your heart rate.

According to the book, you're now limited to fruit and flower still life shoots in the activity room at the rest home.

I like that post.  I just took a quick glance through the port and if I wasn't on the other side of the country I would work my  little butt off to try and make it work.

One of the photographers I worked with was just a little younger than my father and it wasn't an issue for me.  Honestly I think dismissing someone's work simply based on age (either side) is ridiculous.

You would think a young model would appreciate an older photographer since the macho, "gotta bed them all down" mentality would be gone.  I'm an "old timer" and every model i have worked with appreciated my age since they said they felt "more secure and respected" by an older male.  Either way, you probably saved yourself a headache with this {silly} person ~~
