I have only shot about 600 or so weddings and I probably don't know what I am talking about.

The wedding day is about the bride groom and the day.  That rig is ridiculous for a wedding.  So much for an intimate moment.

I completely agree with you... but I'm also quite sure this will become a fad at some point in the near future. The same women that want 3D ultrasounds for the babies will want 3D wedding photos (well, probably not in that particular order, but you get the idea.)
