I would love to know which is my weakest image. I am working hard to really build up a quality port that shows not only my modeling ability but my acting as well. Thank you in advance:)

Greetings JC, I am glad your port is brief - less work for me but more importantly, brief ports are always more captivating. Delete this image for the following reasons, as listed in the guidelines I provide on Page 1 of this forum: [1] AVOID VARIANT IMAGES - the image next to this one has a much better expression [2] DELETE IMAGES WITH POOR POSE OR EXPRESSION - her expression is contrived Delete this image as it has the feel of a snapshot, the girls are just posing for the camera, and there is no clear concept that I can discern. Or am I missing here something? I know this image got 11 comments, but if you read them they are politely weak comments. You have several great images, this one is my favorite for her thoughtful pose, styling, light and color

Sean Scarmack wrote: I'm in Greetings Sean, Firstly I propose you change your AVI. Use your best work to draw a viewer in. Keep the self portrait inside your port. I propose you remove either one or both of your railroad images. railroad theme is a cliché and it devalues your port. Furthermore there is no concept behind these images as your model just smiles at the camera. You have several great images. This portrait is one of my favorites for its color tones and light Hope this helps

Grady Richardson wrote: I'll play. Hi Grady, I will be a bit tougher on you because you are an experienced photog with some great images, but your port organization is poor according to my standards. Please go back to page 1 where I spell my guideline and you will see you have the following problems. Rule [1] variant images. there are many which seriously drag down your port. You should delete images for rule [4] - listen to your audience. You have way too many images in your portfolio. I propose you first delete half of them so you are left with 50 of the best ones. Then hide 30 of these and show only 20 of your very best. When you do that, feel free to come back here for a follow up evaluation Good luck

I love the idea of this thread! I hope to get more pictures in the future but right now I dont have what you wanna look at. If you still wanna take a look I would like you to tell me my one or two best pictures so I can keep them while the others disapear when I get new shoots Keep up the good work!

Hi Thomas, You are on the right track - delete as many as possible and only keep the best. And it really makes sense especially in your case as your port images, while excellent, are too similar. Keep the first image as it is a great portrait showing your handsome features and your expression is quite commercial. The photography is good too. The second one to keep is this one as it shows your six pack in a great light. Good luck and feel free to come back here once you add new images

Random Image wrote: If your still doing it open to learning more today than I knew yesterday! Hi Random, I propose deleting this image as it is a variant, plus her expression is poor. I would also propose removing several images where it seems you used your camera built in flash head on as this destroys the depth of the image. Your primary light source should always be from the side, back or top but never from your direction. Use your built in flash only as fill in source. And my favorite image is this one. The primary light source is from top/behind Seems I commented on this image just recently and this is what I said: May 14, 2014 7:39pm - Simple yet classy. She could be a princess at a polo fame.

Thank you. I appreciate your taking the time to do this! Made some changes, if you have more time open to feedback. And sadly none of the pics are using direct flash, all are either OCF or direct light. (I decided you were right about a lot of things lol, part of it being that this image made a better avatar, I think)

And I agree about the selection of the AVI - it is captivating yet her poor expression is not visible
