Gotta love the crime reports from the Emirates. Kinda gives a different perspective on sorcery, lashes and being naked under an Abaya (looked that up and it's kinda the Hijab)

Looks like a full body one...

In which case the question begs, how did anyone know, unless they weren't those above, or they were drenched or something in white abayas.

If I'm just going off of google images, this would be representative of one typically worn in the UAE by the native population.

Seems about right for Dubai and Abu Dhabi.

Even being VERY knowledgeable on this culture... these guys still boggle my mind.

That's what I was wondering as well, seeing as someone else in the cafe would have said something if it was that obvious rather than having to rely on a boy. And what if said boy found out by peeking up their 'dresses' so to speak?

Which of course begs the question of whether or not the rest of the accusations (or confessions) are true about their lewd behaviors (since if they were simply nude under, maybe they were hot...).

pity so many must live under such oppression.

Also what the fuck is wrong with that boy. If I saw three "naked" chicks at a cafe the last thing I would of done is run and tell my mom!

Not that different to the UK. My partner Eliza almost got arrested for being naked under a fur coat on two shoots. Both times Police were called but she didn't hang around. I was there one time and I couldn't believe what I was hearing. On neither time was she actually naked either. She had corset etc on. Both times the fact there may be children in the vicinity was cited. These were fashion oriented shoots with permissions.

Also as for witch-hunts over sorcery - I recall not so long ago a panic that swept the west over Satanic ritual abuse in which a great many children were removed from their parents and parents charged in the west. We didn't behead them but that was pretty bad.

It was all as the result of false evidence from psychotherapy regression techniques and spurred official state social institutions, Police and the NSPCC on a genuine witch-hunt. In Rochdale alone 20 children were removed from their families. Not one of the allegations turned out to be true. The hsyteria surrounding such abuse still lingers now:

So don't be to quick to judge an Islamic state for believing in sorcery when secular state authorities in very recent times have believed in the practice with the support of (pseudo) science and severely infringed on the basic human rights of hundreds of families over it.

I thought:  "Man gets 15 years, 1500 lashes for sorcery" was crazier still.

from your article

"The three girls told police that they had consensual sex in an apartment, consumed alcohol and got drunk. The girls added that when they regained their consciousness, they came to the café to have coffee."

That's kind of what I was thinking and how did he know they were naked UNDER the robe thingy. And if they have the robe thingy on aren't they then NOT naked?

Not really, If the first part didn't make much sense, then it's plausible that the rest further demonizing them were added in by police/others as well.

big_smile If it was that obvious, I doubt they'd need a little boy to tell his mother, let alone everyone else in the cafe that they were naked under there, including the trip it took to walk down to said cafe.
