I'm photographing one tomorrow. We're not going for scary, but we ARE going for weird. Any fun ideas? We already have plenty, but could use more!

we shot- just got back- it was fun we didnt do the heavily made up clown type pics... we went more theatrical. certainly interesting and different than models!

Thank you ladies and yeah. He's good at being goofy - I have some really weird ones i'm still working on ! He also had a little violin that he kept taking out and playing, I'll have to find one and post it. I think I just fell in love with it-it was my favorite prop! edit: I love how you two posted at exactly the same time too!

Lol I'm basically going back and forth between here and our pm. It's acting weird, btw...last few didn't show up as unread on top, luckily I was in my inbox and saw it was bold. Is it working on your end?

I think sometimes the envelope just needs a moment to show up. and yeah. He was a lot of fun- i think we're going to shoot again, and he's going to bring a few other clowning friends with him too !

And I had asked about the clown car yesterday actually. He isn't trained in that type of clowning, he's more of a theatrical clown! Used to go off the name Happy Dan the Music Man

Sha-Lynne wrote: Trained? As in clown college??? This thread just made my life! yes, you are correct. There are different training for different types of clowning. There are different eras of clowning historically, and there's even a clown hierachy! the type of clown my guy is, vs the type pf clown the circus guy is with the elongated head and make up are two different kinds of clowns,. My guy is more modern- the above guy would be more historical.

Look at images of circe du soliel clowns for inspiration, they look awesome. I used to be afraid of clowns when I was little!

Ohhh, that's a really good idea- I'll have to do that for our next shoot! and yeah, I used to too. But i think a lot of it was the make up - THAT was creepy. I really liked that the clown guy I shot with used a little bit of make up; rouge and lipstick, but that was pretty much it. And a red clown nose, but that's a given too!
