sick.

Who would have guessed?

I think that makes 6 times in like 8 months.  WTFFFFFFFFFF????  It's not majorly sick, just enough to be annoying and probably make me stay home tomorrow.

I'm entirely out of ideas on ways to stay healthy.  Apparently all my vitamins are doing is eating our monies  tongue

This is actually pretty nice, I'm sick enough to stay home but not sick enough not to enjoy it.  Holy shit...a day off!  Gonna try to catch up on ish...maybe even *gasp* post my reception and/or honeymoon pics.

I got like 9 or 10 hrs of sleep too...think I should be good by tomorrow.  Just makes more sense to take one day off and recover then not take a day off and be miserable and out of it for weeks.

Yes, I mentioned that to the ENT and he said that they don't really take them out anymore, I forget the reason he gave.  It might have just been after a certain age...don't remember.  That was when I was still in NY so it's been a bit.  He just said that I'm unlucky and just have a craptastic immune system and catch *every* cold that goes around.  Weird thing is, that I'm rarely sick when other people are sick...

I just don't have time to play doctor tag.  I've also told 2 primary care physicians and I mention it whenever I see an unrelated specialist just in case they have insight.  Nada.

What seem to make up the majority of your illnesses?  Common cold?  Allergy related?  Other?  If you don't mind my asking, that is...if you'd rather not divulge - completely understood.

Thanks, this one really isn't that bad and I'm pretty sure that I nipped it in the bud.  I think that after one more good night's sleep I should be good.  I'm generally functional though my colds, they just suck and I often lose my voice.

I'm entirely an open book...especially with these things!  Never know who may have an answer.

I rarely see a doctor but my guess is that they are the common cold.  Though, oddly enough, it is usually a week or two after other people get sick.  Every time I'm like yus!  I missed this round!  Then after everyone else is better, I die.  Actually, now that I think about it, my co-worker was sick a few weeks ago...fucker!

Ah shit.  It sounds like a clear-cut case of mom-itis!  lol  Seriously...everyone in my household will get sick and I'll run around taking care of them only to end up sick a week or two later with no one to take care of me!  sad

Even if it's the common cold, have you tried ocean drops or a neti-pot?  I swear by those things.  I suffer from a lot of upper respiratory infections which run right behind being congested from a cold or having allergy issues.  Whenever I feel ANYTHING coming on, I utilize those 2 things and gargle with salt water (as hot and salty as you can tolerate).

Also, lots of homemade chicken soup.  You hear that, Jay?  wink

Seriously though, traveling models bring lots of germs...unfortunately, I don't merely carry germs, they all get me.  So when I traveled I'd be sick most of the time.  Granted I also shot in the cold a lot and didn't get a lot of sleep....but still...

I was sick after Titania was here, too...but that's because we got retarded drunk and no sleep and my body is entirely not used to that.  (totally worth it though)

I don't know what those are but I do take the Halls Daily Defense Drops and I also take vitamin D-3 as well as a regular multi-vitamin.  My friend said that since I'm still getting sick, I'm essentially throwing my money out.  tongue

So you're saying traveling models are carriers? That's great tongue

I still don't think Nicolette made me sick however.  This really isn't a cold or a flu, or anything like that.  I am kind of prone to respiratory problems, anyway.  I've had pneumonia about half a dozen times, mostly as a child.

And until recently I've been more or less quarantined, as it is... Photography exposes me to people (and apparently diseases, too!).

Both the Neti-Pot and the Ocean drops are a saline solution you use nasally.  I used Ocean Drops (which can be administered as a spray or a drop) for years with half decent results, but due to a broken nose (with the cartilage almost completely blocking my left nostril) the results probably weren't as effective as they could have been.

After hearing a couple of friends rave over Neti-Pots, I tried one for the first time last year.  I think it's amazing.  Flushes out your sinuses something crazy.  It's really helped me as far as post-secondary infections are concerned.

Oceans drops will run you under $5 and you should be able to pick up a Neti-Pot for under $15.  At that price, it may be worth giving it a shot to see if they help any or at least bring you a little relief.  smile

The more people someone comes in contact with, the more germs and bacteria that they come in contact with.  Traveling models work with a lot of people.  Popular photographers are carriers too.

Ahhhh I use flonase (sp?) when I have a runny/stuffy nose.  It opens things up and dries you out for a whole day.

If a net-pot is what I think it is, those things creep me out.

I've been okay so far, until just recently.  But this may just be incidental, and allergy-related.

Yes, they're the rubber pots you use to pour water into your nose with.  I've done sinus rinses before, but with a bottle, and a saline rinse.  It feels really weird to have water drip from your nose.

The neti-pot is a little tea-pot looking thingy.  You pour water up one side and it comes out the other.  First time I tried it I was concerned about the sensation of water in my nose and possibly having it run down my throat.  It actually wasn't bad at all and it made me feel a bazillion times better.

Just because you're exposed to germs doesn't mean they'll affect you.  If your immune system is strong most of them won't.

Those are the things where you put your head sideways and it goes in one nostril out the other?  Yea...freaks me the fuck out.

It sounds like it would tickle your brainz....does it go all the way up to your sinuses or just go through?  (not sure if there's an opening in the back or something)

Have you ever gone without taking medicine or vitamins? I've been around a ton of sick people lately and haven't caught anything. Once every couple of years I'll get it bad, though. I don't take any medicines but I feel like that lets my body gets better accustomed to fighting off sickness.
