Completed an album cover shoot yesterday. Can I plead get some feedback on my new avatar and other new image. Much appreciated MMers Oct 08 12 03:38 am Link not a fan, don't think these belong in your portfolio. The only way I could see these being valuable is if you wait until the album is out, and then take a picture of the album with you on it, and use it as a tearsheet that way. but from a modelling portfolio point of view, I don't like the images. Oct 08 12 03:41 am Link Thank you very much for your honest opinion. Much appreciated Oct 08 12 03:44 am Link I think it was a good concept but the effect you are trying to get - that moody HDR almost Joey Lawrence meet Joel Grimes (google for reference if needed) photography style needs more care in pre and post work than was done in your case. Oct 08 12 04:24 am Link Oct 08 12 05:36 am Link Landscape-oriented images rarely work well as avatars, since they get squashed down to fit into a portrait-oriented slot. Compounding the problem, you figure fairly small in that image to begin with. It's pretty worthless as an avatar. It's a bit too dark and high-contrast to work on any level, IMO. You'd do much better to use this as your avatar: or even this: Oct 09 12 12:42 pm Link Oct 09 12 03:01 pm Link Oct 09 12 03:08 pm Link |
