Again, look at your shitty attitude. I'm fucking GLAD you're no longer a tattoo artist. You were clearly not doing it because you believed in it, and to me that's not a real dedicated tattoo artist. Good riddance. smile

But what the hell do I know, right?

What's that saying of yours?

Chillax ?

We all must choose our own path. Far be it from me to cast pearls!:-)

I have gotten nothing but compliments and photographers telling me that they usually don't like to work with models that are inked...I have yet to have a problem and have booked many shoots that are not just targeted at tattoos or anything in that genre.  I think it depends on the tattoos really.

I have shot  a few models with tattooes and some are gorgeous and
some......How do you know how to find a true artist that can create
a beautiful, unique piece of art, and not a pre-design stencil pattern
you can Google any time?
Just curious...

You just look for a good artist and look at the work they have done. Tell them what you want and they sketch it for you. You get to see it and approve it before they actually tattoo it onto to you. Some people do just pick from the pre-designed tattoos on the wall. But a lot of people go the custom route. There are some remarkable tattoo artists out there that do create pieces of art.

I am not bitter in the least bit. I just chose not to tattoo nor deal with people who are so emotionally attached to something that is really so meaningless in the big scale of things of life. In my opinion, not very good decision makers. And in choosing not to be involved. Things have been working out pretty swell for me smile All my above opinions are solely based on my experience as a tattoo artist. You haven't been me, nor lived my life, so you can't validate or negate my experience.
I love the life I live. I have a wonderful fulfilling life. I can't wait to get up every day and start a new adventure. How many of you can actually say that?

I've learned at a very young age not to be so judgmental. What is important to one person may not be important to the next. We all come from different walks of life, no two people are the same. I've never questioned it or tried to compare myself to others. You say we haven't been you or lived your life so we can't possibly know what you are thinking or feeling...but we could say the exact same to you. If we want to be emotionally attached to something you think is so meaningless, well you aren't us...so why pass judgement? Everyone is entitled to their own opinions BUT you can't pass judgment and then when someone passes judgment back at you, you respond with basically "you don't know me" kinda attitude. Kind of hypocritical. And yes I can honestly say I have a wonderful fulfilling life as well!

To be honest, I think people who get bad tattoos get them done when they're young, or under age (I fall into this too, my wrist tattoo isn't the best) and they just get one because they can.

Now, I think most want tattoos by the best. Maybe that's just me. I mean my thigh piece, might not your cup of tea, but it done beautifully, and photographers usually make a point of photographing it which is nice.

I like having my tattoos, because they're mine, and on me, they make me different to everyone else smile

Hi,
The interpretation I take on this is that no, the, (New Testament) Bible does not forbid tattooing but, that is one of those small minor details that is not 'legally writtendown' and we are individuals. Just like the New Testament doesn't tell me what literal clothing to wear every day either!

Hi,
Lots of bolding within quotes in this thread and comments streaming. If I misread, then apologies. I thought I was reading that after the OP asked his question that he later revealed he had a personal negative feeling about tattoo seaking people and compared them to a parnter in an abusive relationship coming back for more!

Any good -face- tattoos here on Mayhem? I haven't found any, and I'm looking for a beautiful llama with a Tyson-like face tattoo around her eye. Anyone have any references to llamas with face tattoos? wink

Go to different parlours, look at their portfolios. If you see someone on the street with ink in the style you want, don't be afraid to ask them where they had it done - most people take it as a compliment anyway.
Look up the style of ink you want (portrait, graffiti style, anime, biomech...) and look through tattoo mags like Skin Deep for recommendations on the best artists.
Google always helps too.
Word of mouth is the most reliable source though. I wish I'd gotten my first 2 tattoos from the guy who did my 3rd, and I heard of him through my boyfriend who's covered in his art.

Research! smile
