Les Misérables Movie
When I first heard about them going into production on it I was kind of skeptical, but watching the full trailer, at Lincoln. It seemed like it could be really impressive. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ZNKcLXvuF7g Dec 04 12 01:27 am Link I rarely tolerate musicals, but I'm curious about this one specifically for the tactic they chose for recording the singing. Dec 04 12 06:17 am Link big les miserables fan, can't wait to see the movie Dec 04 12 06:41 am Link Holy shit *scratches head* it actually looks...promising. As a fan of the original (though it's been a long time)... i'd love to see if we're either going to get a 3 hour movie- or what they're leaving out! Dec 04 12 06:42 am Link Excited doesn't begin to describe how I feel about this. Dec 04 12 12:11 pm Link The cast is incredible. The cinematography is fabulous. But, the endless singing? Not sure about that. I don't mind a song or two unless it's an on stage opera, but, I'll pass on endless singing. I do want to see it. I'll just wait 'till I hear a few good critiques from friends or family. I've always loved the story. Dec 04 12 12:14 pm Link Definitely looking forward to it. Laura and I caught the stage production in London earlier this year. I hadn't seen it since it was in Toronto over a decade ago. I loved it. Will definitely be going to see this in the theatre. Dec 04 12 12:15 pm Link I predict Borat will steal the show. Dec 04 12 12:23 pm Link gl-amour wrote: Haha, he was born for the role of Thenardier! Dec 04 12 12:24 pm Link It is Oscar Bait....but...Lincoln and Zero Dark Thirty will get Oscars Attention. Dec 04 12 12:26 pm Link I don't know, I think I'd just be miserable. Dec 04 12 12:31 pm Link Saw it when it was on Broadway and can't wait to see the movie, since I saw the trailer when I went to see "Lincoln." Dec 04 12 12:57 pm Link I very excited to see this movie and I am sure it will be fantastic great cast! Dec 04 12 01:02 pm Link LOVE Les Mis!! Can't wait!! Dec 04 12 08:44 pm Link Read a review of the movie (limited showing in NYC) and the critic said that Anne Hathaway (a) sets a new standard for her singing of "I dreamed a dream..." and (b) she's got to be the front-runner for the oscar for best supporting actress for her portrayal of Fantine. Certainly what we hear of her singing during the trailer is impressive. Ed Dec 05 12 03:10 am Link Two words: Hugh Jackman Dec 05 12 05:06 am Link One of my favorite musicals I hope they do it justice. Dec 05 12 07:33 am Link i'm quaking with anticipation. i cannot wait...i may actually see it on xmas day. i played in the pit for it when i was in high school. Dec 05 12 06:22 pm Link Anne Hathaway I dreamed a dream preview, http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=F2AE2aL0-6Y she sounds fantastic Dec 06 12 10:28 pm Link Greg Holt Photography wrote: She is a very good vocalist, she was up for the part of Christine in the film version of Phantom, but was considered too old for the part. Gorgeous voice. Dec 07 12 01:32 am Link I've never been to a musical and normally have no interest whatsoever in musicals as movies (I'm a dude after all ), but I'm a huge music fan and the songs in the trailer made me take notice. I think if it was just a repeat of the stage version songs, I wouldn't consider it at all. But from that trailer, it sounds like the music in this will have so much emotion I would actually go see it with my daughters if they suggested it. I can't suggest it of course...I mean, no reason to have to turn my "man-card" in at this point...right? Dec 07 12 02:07 am Link |
