Hi,

I'm a young (wannabe) photographer from the UK looking to grow and expand as a photographer. All the work I've posted here so far was taken on 35mm and I'm now thinking of making the leap to digital.

Any comments, constructive criticism, etc would be much appreciated and also anyone who thinks we may be able to work together please do get in touch.

Although it is not crisp in focus (a general issue in the portfolio, not sure whether it's the conversion of them to digital and increasing size from original or what, they don't appear this way until you click on them) and body parts are cut off, I think this one is my favorite of your photos:

The rest I'd suggest taking out, because of expression, pose, and I think the ones with toes being in the foreground could work but don't in these shots in my opinion.

I think you currently run the risk of someone looking at your profile and thinking/saying, "bunch of dudes with their shirts off." Of course, people could say about lots of other profiles "bunch of chicks with their clothes off..."
but in many cases, there is something about the photos individually and all on one or several pages that creates an effect.

Something you mentioned in your profile interested me "Many models were performers or artists." I think photographs showing that would be cool to include!

The images have not been transferred to digital as such, just scanned in the original 35mm prints.

I do hope they don't come across too much as "bunch of dudes with their shirts off" though, as the shoots were intended to convey certain themes or ideas, predominantly body image, "style", conscious v subconscious body language and other themes related to masculine physicality, with much imput from the models themselves.

Be prepared to shift your thinking regarding making images. For instance, shooting an image in digital gives instant feedback. Switching between color and B&W is simple, image editing is easy (OK, you DO have to learn to use some editing software.) And since pixels are cheap, you'll probably shoot more than you did when using film.

And no matter how much the film devotees say it ain't so... digital is taking over imaging. It probably already has as far as the general public is concerned. Seen any film cameras for sale lately in the discount stores?
