Still a newbie...
So I'm not making a lot of progress. I only started modeling a few months ago. Just saying hi I guess lol : Jan 08 13 10:10 am Link Welcome to the mayhem! Keep your chin up! Jan 08 13 10:12 am Link Thank you I'm trying lol Jan 08 13 10:18 am Link Have you contacted all of the photographers you have friended and who have left tags on your profile to setup shoots? Being 17 might slow you down for a bit with some of them but that won't last forever. Jan 08 13 10:45 am Link You have a great look. I'd think you could do well. Hurry up and turn 18 and I'd love to fly you to California. In the meantime, good luck to you and stick with it! Jan 08 13 11:01 am Link Cute port! Hang in there, I'm sure you can make it Jan 08 13 11:05 am Link Well, from what I see you have only been on of a few months. Depending on where you live and how active you are on the site will determine how well you do. I live in San Antonio, and yes this is NOT the best place to llama. I try to make it happen. Now with you, you are still 17 so that may kind of hold you back. Your parents may want to know who you are taking to and are they real. When most phtogs don't have time of that. Also, I notice that the best and successful llamas are either high fashion ones, or the glamour ones ( usually 5'5 and under). Reach out and talk to them, that's how I get my shoots, if you sit back, you may go unnoticed. Good luck!!! Need more advice, let me know. Jan 08 13 11:14 am Link Hi, right back, from 1500 miles away. Is there a request for suggestions on how to market yourself implied in your post? Jan 08 13 11:17 am Link Any advice is helpful and thanks everyone Jan 08 13 11:20 am Link what's your goal? you have a nice look so i'm surprised you haven't at least been able to line up some trade/TF shoots with local photographers. we've done lots of good shoots with 16 and 17 year old models. some photographers will insist that a parent/guardian be on set. have you tried casting calls and availability notices and just contacting local photographers directly? if you are wanting to get paid and/or do the agency thing then that's a different situation. Jan 08 13 11:25 am Link Yeah, I respond to a lot of TF casting calls but usually it doesn't work out... I had to cancel a shoot due to work (I work two jobs) a few days ago but other than that I really haven't had much luck. Jan 08 13 11:36 am Link Danielle Starr wrote: Well put Danielle. Pro Photogs don't often work independently with underage talent because of all the drama associated with it. Jan 08 13 07:47 pm Link Welcome to MM. Enjoy the Mayhem. Jan 08 13 10:43 pm Link Hello and welcome. What's you're goal? How are you measuring progress? Lack of shoots? Have you posted casting calls? Have you contacted photographers in your area?
