I think it may be a SCAM
The other day I received a message on here and the Photographer wanted my email address stating he had a job offer for me that MM would not allow him to discuss. So, I gave him my email address and he sent me this very long, very detailed message that outline the shoot completely. Then it got to payment and the Magazine he works for, (he did provide the website and, it looks very nice), but, it is the payment thing that has me worried. The magazine is going to send me $2500. I am suppose to keep $300 for an upfront payment to me and I'm suppose to send the rest to the company that will provide the dresses for the shoot. My husband thinks it is a scam and I don't want to be scamed out of any money but, if it is a legit offer I don't want to miss out. So, has anyone had any dealings with Allure Magazine or Michael Huston? Any information you can provide would be greatly appreciated. Jan 12 13 05:43 pm Link Yes, it's a scam. Learn all you can from it and you will learn to recognize all the popular scams. The one where someone sends you a check and asks you to forward partial payment is a HUGE red flag (what happens is you send the check -to the scammer - and by the time you realize that the check they sent you is fake, they have already cashed the smaller check you sent them). 99% of the folks are decent and honest; it's the one percent you have to watch out for. Also, no legit magazine will ever email anyone at this site with a job offer. Go to your inbox and read the Avoid Scams section. Then go to newmodels.com and read the section on scams. You will keep of course $300.00 for your self and then they want you to mail them the rest. Open your eyes its a scam they get good cash and your stuck with paying off the bounced check. LOL Jan 15 13 08:42 pm Link It really is a scam because i received 2 checks from different people like that and NEVER have i cashed them later on i end up throwing them away.When i read it it really just looked like a copy and paste message and it was the same magazine that contacted me too.Its a scam. Sep 01 13 02:07 am Link Ladies, it is a scam because the cheques will be fake, and if you try cashing them...it wont work, After this, they ask you to send back the remaining amount of money, and this time, its from your own pocket, but you dont know this since you believe you're getting 2500$ bucks deposited.
