The other day I received a message on here and the Photographer wanted my email address stating he had a job offer for me that MM would not allow him to discuss.  So, I gave him my email address and he sent me this very long, very detailed message that outline the shoot completely.  Then it got to payment and the Magazine he works for, (he did provide the website and, it looks very nice), but, it is the payment thing that has me worried.  The magazine is going to send me $2500. I am suppose to keep $300 for an upfront payment to me and I'm suppose to send the rest to the company that will provide the dresses for the shoot. My husband thinks it is a scam and I don't want to be scamed out of any money but, if it is a legit offer I don't want to miss out.  So, has anyone had any dealings with Allure Magazine or Michael Huston?  Any information you can provide would be greatly appreciated.

Go to your 'My Stuff' page and click on the "AVOID SCAMS" box. Learn all you can from it and you will learn to recognize all the popular scams. The one where someone sends you a check and asks you to forward partial payment is a HUGE red flag (what happens is you send the check -to the scammer - and by the time you realize that the check they sent you is fake, they have already cashed the smaller check you sent them).

99% of the folks are decent and honest; it's the one percent you have to watch out for. Best of luck,

Any offer EVER that sends you a check that you have to return part of the money to someone else is a scam.

Also, no legit magazine will ever email anyone at this site with a job offer.

Go to your inbox and read the Avoid Scams section. Then go to newmodels.com and read the section on scams.

Rule of thumb: if you have to ask, it's a scam!

By now the account has probably been terminated.

The magazine trusts you, an Internet stranger, with their money?  No, the check is forged and your bank will expect you to make good on the fraudulent funds.

There is no reason to believe that Allure Magazine or Michael Huston has actually sent you this communication.

If they have sent you a check most likely the check is a bad check and by csshing it what you are doing is cashing a fraudulent check that will later kick you on your bank account. You will keep of course $300.00 for your self and then they want you to mail them the rest. Open your eyes its a scam they get good cash and your stuck with paying off the bounced check. If it souonds like a good thing its going to kick you right back.

Tell them to keep sending you checks. In fact, tell them to send it overnight express mail.

Ladies, it is a scam because the cheques will be fake, and if you try cashing them...it wont work, After this, they ask you to send back the remaining amount of money, and this time, its from your own pocket, but you dont know this since you believe you're getting 2500$ bucks deposited. If you ever send back a cheque, you won't hear from them anymore.

The end
