Hello everyone,

I would like to share with you my last work which is the photomanipulation with self-made 3d elements. The main theme for the work is "Tomb Raider" series.

Software used: 3D Studio Max, Vray, ZBrush, Photoshop, Quixel nDo2, Quixel dDo Beta, xNormal

The final image:

Not bad. Feels a little too much like hand painted shadows on ambient occlusion, and not 'lit' enough to me.

Awesome work!

The only thing I could see as needing critiqued for looking off is from the stock image used, the way the gun is being held.

I like the work you did in merging the 3D elements with the stock image it is very well done, without knowing what was used and seeing the piece I don't think a lot of people would be able to pick out what is rendered and what is from the photo stock.

Thx for the comments smile

And about lighting and shadows. I didn't use any 3d character model from poser or daz studio so I had to paint the character's shadows by hand on the Vray's passes I rendered.

The light in the scene is 2 Vray lights (planes). Now I think I should have used one Vray sun (for more direct shadows) and second VrayLight (plane).

Hope that in the next photomanipulation project the integration between photo and 3d be better - but I'm still happy with the effect I got smile

Manipulation can be done by anyone but i must congrate you for the incredible texturing. Your objects look real not plastic and this is the most difficult. Good job.
