Do any of you lovely people know of any websites that make up artist professionals can trade products? I get sponsored by a bunch of luxury brands and sometimes after trying something once or just by looking at it I know I will never use it and it just sits there rotting forever. Please help! Thank you! big_smile

I have not seen any pros swapping in a while. Personally (and off the top of my head) all I have is an extra Heat in Face Atelier.
Some other suggestions...

Maybe you can list your products here...

Maybe you can throw a makeup/makeover party (drinks a must)...

Maybe you can donate for charity....

I hope this helps

This is a great question. I literally have a closet and 2 bookcases for all the makeup I have that I don't use.

Maybe we should start something here. Keep it to 5 to 10 items per posting, insert pictures and agree to the equal or adequate swap. Just like some of those clothing swap events, bring a bag a stuff...enter the event...walk out with a bag of stuff. We can keep it local or international.

Any other ideas?

Is makeupalley.com international? I think it is. They have a trading section?

nice idea but my only concern with makeup products is hygienics.  once product is opened and used, you don't know how other makeup artist handled the product.. some use fingers, some use swap.  But how do we know?

Even new unopened items can still spoil.  I recently found one of my brand new palette that was sitting on my shelf was growing a new colony out of it!  Yuk!

for items such as cases, bags, etc. that I don't mind but makeup I probably wouldn't.  Especially using on my clients, I don't want to risk ruining my reputation.

If your a makeup artist and you belong to my face book group you can post items for sale/trade in the group.  We even have a file that lists makeup items for sale.

If you have anything you want to just give away, most cities have women's shelters who would love to receive products for their clients.

Agree!  If any of the products can be sanitized prior, many shelters, nursing homes, and community centers could use the items.  Charitable donation for a tax deduction? smile
