If you want to photograph a model, not sure only one single picture is relevant. You need to browse her portfolio just like I would look at a photographer's whole work. It makes sense.

Your B&W image is stellar!!! So good.

I double dare any model too do that.

Actually, if I saw the OP with his camera for an aviator, I'd be laughing my head off. Sorry, couldn't resist big_smile

and then god gave photographers photoshop.....

and then go gave humans spray on tan....

but apparently he forgot to give MM the option to search for tan skin...it must be hard just trolling the browse category based on ONE picture for a model...

That's like ripping a page out of a book and then expecting you'll read it and you'll get the whole story

everything everyone else has posted above me +1

As an aside, a model could have a portfolio full of in-color shots, and still have none of those accurately represent her "true" skin color due to lighting, make-up, post work, etc.

Just one look at my portfolio proves this. I have at least three "different" hair colors in my port--all courtesy of different types of lighting! wink

An avatar is a shop window, it has to grab the viewer's attention and encourage the viewer to click through to the portfolio.  An avatar which shows skin colour might not be an attention grabber.

The OP wasn't asking for an UNSOLICITED CRITIQUE of his profile/avatar.

Just a quick message to Photographers...

... who should use an excellent model shot as their profile's main image (avatar) because it allows the MODEL to see the caliber of the photographer without viewing the whole portfolio. Thanks.

hint, hint ...

212...I can't argue with that lol I didn't even know that was an option...then again I never search for llamas.

Regardless just looking at the avi is silly...and then coming here and telling llamas what avi is convenient for him is insulting when his avi isn't even a picture that would sell his photography in the least bit..

I want to start one that says models should also learn to cook and clean so they can clean up before we shoot and have dinner done for when we finish.

Of course they must also do the dishes.

I do hate doing the dishes.

Many photographers don't shoot black and white. When searching profiles I look for tanned models but if the avatar is in b/w I then need to view the whole portfolio which wastes time and slows down the search process.

Models tend to be inconsiderate like that. I agree they shouldn't use the best shot they have as their avi. They should choose the one that makes your model selection easier.

That's a bit harsh don't you think?

Surely there are a few models on here looking for updated photo's of their camera.

Lots of "hidden" features that not everyone has found. I wonder how many models actually make seasonal adjustments to the "tanned" setting? I know a few who write it into their profile. Same goes for "hair color" - those that change often need to alert people their current color.

Totally agree with you on selection by an avatar is silly. The total portfolio including the profile words are important in selecting someone to work with here.

This thread made me LOL

So basically the OP likes fake boobs and tanned women....says alot about him.

But hey, if thats your cup of tea, fair enough...but to preach...well thats another thing.

I vote that all Models should now have a B&W avatar, just to piss the OP off.

Thanks for reviving this thread. I now see a lot more models using a colour avatar instead of monochrome and this is aiding me no end in my search for tanned models. Thanks to those who made the effort to change.

lol I'm sure it has lmao

My suggestion to you is find a better avi picture considering I only now work with photogs that have a good color photo of their work as their avi...I decided your method MUST be best...

Glad you've seen the light and using my method. However, when I'm paying then I set the terms, so you see, there really isn't a need for me to change my avatar.

LET THE MAN HAVE A CAMERA IN HIS AVI THEN...if he thinks thats the best move then so be it.

however, I personally would never choose to view more photos of someone with a weird avi like that.

What's the big deal? You can go and get a tan using sunbeds or a spray tan.

Dear Models,

Please continue to use the image that best defines your style, and your personal taste when setting your avatar. It helps give us an instant feel of what images you are drawn to. Understand that we will also look at other shots in your portfolio before making a decision

Thanks
