He, and his marketing team, have been successful in garnering popular opinion using the resources available to them. IMO, this was another example. While I generally applaud their efforts I feel like using a pop star to represent our country in the National Anthem at the Presidential Inauguration was not the right choice. Ultimately I don't think it will have any real lasting consequences.

I really don't understand what the big deal is.

They were at the last inauguration. They've been at other events of his. Obama doesn't need to campaign for anything anymore, so there is no real need for "popular support." He just likes her. He wanted her to sing at the inauguration. He called them. She said yes. I look forward to the day when Snoop Dogg performs at an inauguration.

What she and Jay-Z (dislike him as well) have are great business and marketing skills. Just like Nicki Minaj, who is probably the worst female rapper/popstar clown who has ever stepped on the stage. Everyone knows Bey can sing and dance and yes she is an amazing performer, but her team has kept her and her husband relevant for so long. Just like that annoying P. Diddy/Puff Daddy *gags

I'd be welling to be that had she not used the track and then done a poor job, the same people would be accusing her of being stupid for not using a backing track knowing cold it was going to be. I say you guys can shove it.

I could care less about what happened at the inauguration. Her music is not all that......her husband is not the best rapper alive and they both should go away and stop trying to hog the spotlight so much.

However that doesn't mean they don't need to be concerned with how they are perceived. I'm a fan on Snoop (circa the 90's) however I certainly wouldn't want to see him representing our country at a state affair.

I'll bet 90% of the people complaining about this didn't even watch the Inauguration.

I wish her nothing but the best. She's not on welfare, she's not shitting on people or saying anything negative about anyone publicly. She's hard working, successful, talented, good looking. Seems to love her family, seems to be a cool big sister, auntie. If I'm going to hate someone I need something more than lip syncing and being extremely popular. I wish her continued success and I wish her nothing less than I wish for my own daughters. A happy, fulfilled, relevant life. Positive energy can open many doors. I'm a witness.

You're a great role model for your daughters. I don't have daughters, but I bet every mother would be proud of a daughter as successful as Beyonce.

kNow what I tell people that don't pay my bills? When you can't pay my bills, there isn't shit that you can tell me. When something bothers me, I don't need for them to go away. I move on. Am I a fan of hers? Not really. But I have enough sense to turn the t.v. or radio station if I don't want to listen to her sing, instead making myself miserable.

I have this theory that the *real* reason people hate pop stars is because they are jealous.

why are people still so worked up about her lip syncing?? Is a person not allowed to have a day where their voice is weak, or they were just getting over a cold but had confirmed months before that they would do it? I get annoyed when people like Ashley Simpson (very old example I know), or Britney Spears make excuses for their lip syncing, because we all know they can't sing anyways. Got forbid people like Adele, Beyonce, or even fucking Whitney Houston at one time in their lives sang to a back track because their throat wasn't 100% that day. People are just trying their luck at any excuse to bash the president, and its throwing anyone near him on the train. *shrug* -fin-

Nah, my mom would still be bitching about how I wasn't livin' right. ...even if I was a multi-millionaire, setting her up in a big house of her own, with a maid, personal chef, and live-in masseuse. She'd find some reason to justify her own negativity.
