So in your mind a govt purge of communist support is the same as an ethnic minority's effort to gain equality of opportunity in employment ?

No.

In my mind a government witch-hunt against dissenting opinion (= McCarthy era) is the same as trying to infringe people's freedom systematically under the camouflage of "political correctness".

personally i would not trivialize the issue as being that of "political correctness "

The US Constitution speaks of the "Equal Right of All Men "...

Equal Employment Opportunity regardless of ethnicity is simply a step in that direction

"political correctness" is not "trivial" but one of the most dangerous threats against people's personal freedom.

I'm not shure whether Thomas Jefferson or Alexander Hamilton or John Adams ever intented to dictate New York Fashion Week organizers which percentage of their catwalk models have to be under 5 ft 3 in, older than 50 years, or have white, black, green, yellow, red or blue skin.

But I'm shure that Thomas Jefferson as well as Alexander Hamilton and John Adams wanted free people living in a free country to live their lifes and do their businesses at their own discretion and with as little as possible of government regulation.

I am sure America's founding fathers had little or no idea what their society would evolve into

Hell Jefferson couldnt even resolve his own personal dilemna regarding slavery

Apparently another current thread concerning this topic was shut down - stating that it was a duplicate to a currently active thread

This being the only significant thread on the subject that I can recall in recent months

Must be a very touchy subject. Not discussing it is safer perhaps for some.
