Shoot up close with a prime, or farther back with a zoom?

I tend to shoot farther back with a zoom.

Would you have rather have witnessed The Pyroclastic Eruption of MT Vesuvius or The Great Fire that Destroyed The Library of Alexandria?

Would you rather have lived in ancient Greece or ancient Rome?

1920's.  Improved medicine, soaring stock market, broader rights legislation...

Some interesting recent either/or questions, btw.  A step above "Ginger or MaryAnne."  smile

A surprised party is planned for you.  Would you rather know, or not know?

Never heard of okcupid, so eharmony.

Space aliens come to Earth and take over.  They're a million years more advanced than us.  They blanket the Earth with an EMP pulse, and all of our electronics and motors die.  All of our vehicles, ships and aircraft grind to a halt.  None of our weapons work.

Worse, the aliens control not only the physical world; they also control time.  Even when we throw rocks at them, they simply move to another point in space-time before the rock arrives.  Nothing we do has the slightest effect.  We can't even find them; they don't show up visually, on radar, sonar, etc., unless they want to show up.

They organize us into slave labor camps and make us give them all our foodstuffs, except what we need to survive.

Do we give up, give them our foodstuffs, and hope they will one day go away?  Or do we keep throwing those rocks at them, uselessly?  If the latter, why?

Two months with no rain as the logistics for outdoor shoots are easier...

A REALLY fine meal with absolutely no drinks or deserts allowed?  Or just an evening of chocolate and fine wine (or scotch, or what have you...)?

Tubes. Always.
Regardless of what anyone might say about the even harmonics being cut by transistors and being able to hear the difference or not, valves just plain respond better to the nuances of play.

Oops, sorry, that wasn't a choice wink

I'm a fan of modern amps, and transistors have come a long way. And there's something to be said for having an amp that can model both a Fender and a Marshall (and, and, and, and, and...) I play Peavey and Line 6 now.

That said, if we're talking tubes, I'm gonna go with Marshall. There's a LOT to be said for the old Fender stuff, but I'm a child of the 60s and 70s - I love my hard rock and nothing quite goes with that (even if only visually) like a wall of Black & White.

OK...
