Just a heads up to anyone one at work, the last photo is implied, so view at your own risk.

I am bored and wanting to learn a few things or see how to do these color washes and effects. Anyone know how to do it or know of any good tutorial sites?

Here's a way to analyze them so you can figure out what's going on. Most of the images you linked to are just curves adjustments that you could recorded as actions.

(EDIT: I would advise you to ignore subsequent advice to play with saturation levels in various channels. This isn't about saturation. It's cross-processing.)

look into gradient maps - think about a bluer/cooler background and a more yellow/brown/warmer subject

1. Reduce orange and blue saturation

2. Reduce blue, green, red, magenta and purple saturation

3. Make the blues warmer

4. There's something weird about this one. I think the shadows have increased blue and red saturation and either the overall or orange saturation is reduced.

Just try playing around with those ideas and you'll start to recognize how to get what you want.

For #1 and #4, make a selective color adjustment layer, select 'blacks' under 'color,' and play around with the sliders.

Techniques are going to depend on a) the image you're starting with and b) which of the four target images you want to emulate. You'll probably learn more if you narrow the question down to one of each -- one image of yours and one of the targets.

EDIT: For example, if you started with an image like the one on the left and hoped to emulate the one on the right, you'd never make it. The effect (right) depends on the fact that most of the pixels are in the bottom one-fourth of the histogram. It's almost the opposite with the other one.
