So...

Anyone got any low-cost/free ideas for a bday get together? I want to do something quirky and fun, but with the temps in the 100s all outdoor activities are out, and most indoor activities cost more than I want to expect people to pay.

Ideas???

Pot-luck picnic at Rose Canyon Lake on Mt. Lemmon? Bring a jacket, it's 7,000 elevation.

I don't drink and my friends aren't heavy drinkers.

I know we'll go out to dinner, its the recreational aspect I'm struggling with. I'm so boring!

Im going to just assume 100 is hot, but isn't the death of all man kind like it would be in Celsius, right?

Is your location coastal? Learn to surf lessons are pretty cheap here. They give you the wetsuit and longboard and you all get to look like idiots riding in the white water on your knees for a few hours. It was my school sport in year ten. You could even go on a mini road trip if it isn't coastal.

If you have water but no waves, why not get some paddle boats and plan a middle of the lake type picnic. Two persons per boat, with all your food and grog, someone will be clever enough to try and walk between two boats and get soaked but the boats themselves are pretty hard to capsize.

Iceskating is fun and isn't too expensive. A break from the sun and you can watch each other fall over etc.

Or hey, you could just have a grown up slumber party with pillow fights, https://assets.modelmayhem.com/images/smilies/scary.pngstories and truth or dare.

I sure do miss water! I'm in the middle of a desert! No ocean or lakes, or ice skating!

I pondered the sleepover but I'm not sure I have the space! And sleeping on the floor likely isn't appealing to my friends lol

for recreation, let all your friends spank you 25 times.  I always find that fun, personally.
