Favorite OCC Lip Tar Colors?
I wanted to get a few/several for my kit. Any favorites? I do weddings, model comp cards, and a little print work. I have never used them but of course always hear how great they are. Thanks! Personally, I've always had trouble mixing makeups to get shades of pink that I like, so I got both Anime (neon pink) and Queen (described on the OCC site as bright coral pink; I always think of a flamingo, when I look at it). I provide a tube of lipstick in the brides shade for reapplication through out the day when they buy my bridal package so liptars don't work for that price or use (if you are mixing colors). Most brides will want to buy the lipstick you use (if you are not providing it for them) and liptars also aren't easily accessible except online. For bridal I highly prefer MUFE Aqua Rouge. It's super long lasting and available at sephora/MUFE stores. My I however do use Lip Tar for my print projects. I also provide the bride with a mirrored compact in a translucent in her skin tone... will demo application to the MOH so she can keep the bride "camera ready" throughout the event... I'm going to the store today to get some LOL Jun 07 13 08:47 am Link I agree with Artistry Image. Liptars are amazing for photography where you will be there to touch up etc. I work 2-3 weddings (sometimes more) a week and I can tell you without hesitation no bride wants to get gooey liptar all over their fiance during the kiss. Brides equally want something that is long lasting and does not need to be reapplied every 10 min to look great. Another problem with liptars would be the shine factor. If you start doing lots of bridal you will get brides who want different levels of sheen to the lip some prefer something more matte while others prefer a very shiny lip. Either way having something stick on them is alway a no-go even more so when there is wind and all of their hair gets stuck on their lips lol! Jun 07 13 08:50 am Link Thank you for your replies! like I said, I haven't used them myself. I heard that they dry to a soft matt and are long lasting, so I thought they would work well on their own or with a gloss if needed. In the past I have usually just used mac or lancome or something with a liner and gloss. Any long wear lipstick I have ever tried on myself has been sooo drying, so I have not used them on anyone else. what do you do for the wedding party? I have always just told them to use something of their own that they like after pictures. I don't feel like carrying a store of lippies around that ppl may or may not want to purchase.
