Just throwing this in, just saw it on FB...

It's a great statement about a naturally slender girl, who is speaking up against all that skinny bashing (calling them anorexic, when they don't suffer that mental disease):

One word proportions.

Wow, I never thought of it like that. Same here.

I look at a woman's face first. Then the total body. I believe people will always go back to the face no matter how amazing the body is. So it has to be a complete package.

Awesome photo so true I agree with a lot of people about the hour glass shape being the best imo like a jlo type body but it all depends on the person

Pretty much what the title says. Not industry standards, but MM photographer standards: What makes you say "She has a great body"?

Honestly everyone has their own option on this and their own tastes- I have photographers that love me and I have had other photographers turn me down for a shoot because my "breasts are too small" lol the same way a guy might be a leg guy or a boob guy everyone is different. being confident and the best YOU is what's important- personality and confidence always triumph over physical attributes- look at famous burlesque performer Dirty Martini :http://silentsirenburlesque.tumblr.com/post/37842602165/dirty-martini-from-her-zorita-tribute-act  she is a big beautiful curvy gal who is proud of herself and confident in how she looks and what she does and is now an internationally recognized burlesque performer. Some people may look at her and think "ew" but she doesn't give a fuck and that's what matters. Be healthy and be you- some people will love you and some people will hate you- it is what it is- rock it wink

For me, a toned body is a beautiful body. Soft & smoothe is cool, soft and flappin is not.:-))

Dear Select Models

Thank you for posting this picture with your response to the OP.

In fact I was getting a little concerned about you. You see I vaguely recall reading a couple of your posts recently containing absolutely none of your images at all.

All is now right with the world.

OP - as others have said - start with healthy and work yourway up without jeopardizing the 'healthy'.

some people think I'm gross, some people think I'm awesome.

as an agencymodel who gets to do "cool" jobs and go to castings, I can guarantee you this: for every person who think you're too big, there's another who think you're too skinny. I've literally been to castings where on one casting they'd reject me for one thing and on the next casting they would reject me for the exact opposite.

rejection is part of this industry, but rule number 1 is 'never take it personally'. it's not you, it's just that you're not what they had in mind at this point.

the other thing is this: agencies are not gods. They want you to lose weight, you tried, it didn't work. so screw them. There are other agencies out there you know. Finding a n agency is like finding a lover: you need to find one that suits your needs and wants, not everyone is compatible. And they aren't getting you jobs anyway, so what do you have to lose?

as quoted from Anna Adrielle
This is some very good advice. All I have to say is Fuck the cookie cutter. Go for it!!!

The reason I'm asking this is because I'm on 3-4 different diet pills, workout 3-4 days a week for at least 1 hour a day, and I've cut out every kind of food that brings joy to my life (ice cream, pizza, McDonald's, Taco Bell, family cookouts) and I've lost a total of 2lbs with no loss in my stomach.

Photographers tell me "Lose weight, tone up, suck in that gut". While others outside the model world say "You have an amazing body". My fiance is a day away from throwing out all my diet pills and body wraps. He already cancelled my gym membership because he said I don't need it and I'm killing myself. Maybe I am, but I'm 5'2" and I look big in a lot of my photos. I NEED a flat tummy, sexy legs, and slim arms. Not jelly thighs and a beer gut!

Diet pills are bullshit. It takes long months of hard work to tone up and change body composition. It took me two years of eating very clean and working with a trainer to get somewhat close to the type of body I felt was genetically possible for me to achieve, but also attractive. Six years in, and I still have pitiful, wimpy-ass shoulders, because that's just my genetics.

If you're not focusing your workouts on resistance training, you're wasting your energy. Beyond that, it takes a LONG time for women to develop the slim, athletic looking physiques you see on mainstream swimwear models, if they are not built that way genetically. Most people are not.

I get a lot of compliments and bookings on my figure but I also lose out on jobs for being 'too big'. It all depends on the client!

My measurements are 37-29-36 and this 18+ shot probably shows my figure off best:

https://photos.modelmayhem.com/photos/1 … c8108f.jpg

There's nothing wrong with your body at all. You look healthy, curvy and natural. By all means, keep up with the workouts but I think the diet pills are a bad idea. Exercise and good nutrition are all you really need.

Also, be reasonably about your expectations. There's not a healthy way for you to be a size 6-8 and that's ok. Learn what market you suit best and aim for it. You're a beautiful girl, don't let the haters bring you down smile
