Scam?
I've read the 'what is a scam' thread but I'm not quite sure about this message(name and location removed) that I received. Thought I would ask you all:) it seems a bit too good, but ya'know, doesn't hurt to get more opinions. Hey my name is -------, photographer from -----. I saw your portfolio and I luv your look. I am setting up a shoot in Miami, FL March 16-18 and I would like you to be part of it. I will be shooting swimwear/lingerie/topless. You will receive all your images and $ 300. I cover airfare, hotel room, meals and outfits. Please check out my work and let me know if you are interested. Thank you. ----- Sep 16 13 10:10 am Link About a 99.9% probability, but there's nothing conclusive in that first email. Just don't accept any preshoot cheques. Sep 16 13 10:18 am Link My thought is that there are tons of models in Florida, why does he have to fly you in? Sep 16 13 10:36 am Link Scam, well, most probably of some type. Add another 0 and we're off in unicorn land with the king of Nigeria, this has a bit more room as to what exactly is wrong with it. out in out fraud? scoring dates? talking with new models? Doesn't sound right at any rate. best of luck. They prey on models with stars in their eyes. Sep 16 13 10:49 am Link I would say it is a scam. You are new so you are an easy target. There are plenty of models in Miami, no need to fly one in - no one does that unless you are famous!....Then they fly you in and pay for everything...till then...best of luck!! Sep 16 13 10:50 am Link Marie Raynor wrote: In your profile you say that you have "no experience". Realistically, no one is going to pay $300 to work with a model with "no experience" and they certainly are not going to pay all sorts of travel expenses to bring them to a different location. Someone with this much money to spend would just contact a local agency and get an experienced model. As the old saying goes, if it seems to good to be true it probably isn't. You're being targeted for a scam because of your lack of experience. Sep 16 13 10:55 am Link I suspected so, just wanted to make sure, it didnt quite fit the examples from the forum thread. Thanks all! Sep 16 13 11:06 am Link SOUNDS LIKE A SCAM--LOTS MONEY TO FAST-- SOUNDS TO EASY-- DID YOU SAY ANYTHING THAT WOULD YOU WOULD BE WILLING TO DO THIS?? IN YOUR PROFILE? BUT DOESNT SOUND GOOD OR SAFE-- IF ANYTHING HAVE A ADULT ESCORT--ALWAYS-- Sep 23 13 07:26 am Link (Eddy - Don't type in all CAPS) OP Mayhem lists more than 22,829 female member models in Florida of all shapes & sizes. Logically, why would anyone legit spend all that money to fly an inexperienced model across the country? They probably wouldn't even pay car fare from out of town! Use logic, and you wouldn't even ask. Do Not send them your email, phone, or any other info! Sep 23 13 12:30 pm Link |
