I don't normally pop into this forum, but I need some info from you wonderful makeup people...

Can anyone recommend some good beginner books for a teenager who wants to learn SFX makeup techniques...
The person in question is already very artistic and loves to experiment with makeup and materials to make halloween type stuff, but now needs some grounding in industry basics to take it up a notch.

Any help appreciated.  Thank you.

besides books, you actually do have a few very good basic special effects tutorials on youtube. I actually make Halloween videos (but I do plan to start basic tips and tricks)
Besides that I think Kryolan has a good special effects book (Makeup Manual if I am not mistaken)

Todd Debrecini's book on makeup FX has quickly become a gold standard.
