I've been wondering, other than model mayhem what are the best places to look for makeup artist jobs? I know joining an agency is a good way, but I'm not even that sure how to go about that. Is there a good place to look online for MUA job postings?

Other than Craiglist.

Arielle is Facebook not working for you?  Have you considered a commercial web site?  Much of my revenue stream in makeup artistry comes from my web portal however the lion's share is from my client base which I've established and built over the years... It can be a slow and arduous process but if you have the passion to preserver it is indeed possible to grow your client base over time...

That said, noticed on your MM Profile that your preference is Fashion and artistic makeup... Might want to rethink this if you are seeking recompense... in my market clean beauty pays... think bridal here...  Editorial Fashion rarely if ever pays... if you want to do your "own thing" it's unlikely you'll find paid gigs where you are the creative director on the session... same with theatrical... Yes top talent in NYC do theater for hire... but they are likely agency...

You are fortunate to be so close to NYC... it is possibly one of the best major markets here in the States... Look there for agency representation...

Hope this helps...

All the best on your journey...
