Wear a blue t-shirt with a big number 43 on it and a red baseball cap with a 43 on it so I will be able to pick you out in the grandstand...

Had to clean up my yard this morning after last night's storm. The oak trees in my yard shed limbs like my Chihuahua shed hair. What a mess! I thought there had been a hurricane like Charlie again, and I slept right through the whole thing...

Meh. No big deal. Seems since I don't imbibe anymore I tend to sleep very soundly.

Oak trees in the neighborhood did shed lots of branches last night though.

Well, I took a step back in time today and I didn't need a T.A.R.D.I.S. to do it. All I needed was eBay actually. I bought a Pentax ME Super with a motor winder! What was I thinking? Actually, I have been thinking about this for a long time. I shot with an ME super for almost thirty years before going digital. I mostly shot B&W with it. Did a lot of air-to-air photography with it over the years. Some pictures I shot with it are on my Flickr: https://www.flickr.com/photos/fotofrank01/ See the T-6 and the Tigermoth and my Gold Wing.

Since going digital I've really missed not having a film camera. For years I used to "see" in black and white. Now, because of digital, I don't. I'm really looking forward to using the camera when it gets here. Of course, I'll need to re-learn all of the photography stuff I have forgotten since 2007, when I bought my first DSLR.

That could still be an issue..  Seems when the film processors tank they never replace them.. Might check with Herbie and see if Harmon is still processing..

Well, my ME Super arrived today. It's really nice. The seller even included fresh batteries for the motor winder and extra batteries for the camera light meter. It's very clean and everything appears to work as advertised. I can't wait to run a roll of film through it.

Who wants to get nekkid for my film camera??

No hard legs need apply...

My brother Mark passed away last night. His seven year battle with cancer has ended. He was a great man. A husband, a father and a grandfather. A business owner, a hunter, a cowboy. The Lewis family and Mark's friends will miss him, but he is in a better place now that his suffering is over.

These two pictures are by my brother Bryan. He is the chronicler of events for the Lewis family. Quite a good photographer.

For those of you who would like to celebrate my brother's life with me, please enjoy a gin martini made with Beefeaters over ice. That was Mark's preferred libation. I will be having a few in Mark's memory when I get up to Montana.

So sorry to hear about your loss FL, sounds like brother Mark was a hell of a guy to know  .  .  .  much as I hate drinkin' gin, I'll choke one (or two) down in his honour  .  .  .  safe travels to Montana  .  .  .

Thanks everyone. My brother stated that he didn't want any kind of memorial after his death so I won't be going to Montana at this time. He told my sister-in-law that he wants friends and family to meet at his cabin this fall to celebrate his life and to spread his ashes across the lake.

Thanks everyone and have one on me. This is the way Mark enjoyed his martinis:
