please don't use names for negative comments in the forums. It is considered "outing" them and not permitted on MM.

30 minutes??? Don't you think that is a very short time??
They could be eating
in the bathroom
driving
working
any number of things??

and as well, please don't quote a post with an outing comment, which would also be outing on your part.  You might want to edit your post to correct this.

I paid a retoucher --(redacted)-- $70 for a 2 hour photoshop tutorial, and its been over 30 minutes and still no word. They seem legit and I understand that people are late, but I just wanted to know if anyone else has had an experience with this model mayhem person or if they just jetted with my money....

Either way, I have no ill words about the person yet, just being cautious.

Or you might want to edit your post this way and CAM (contact a moderator https://www.modelmayhem.com/contactamod) them to report the incident.  Understand, the moderators can't do much in a matter that is strictly between two individuals but if it's a pattern with that member, he might be removed from the site.

As has been noted, it could be that he is simply running late, that there was a mis-communication between the two of you or some other legitimate reason for the delay.  Frankly, you do yourself harm with this kind of post.  Others might be concerned that you'd be too quick on the trigger if anything goes wrong on a shoot and for that reason avoid working with you.  It's unlikely that anyone would risk their reputation over $70.00 but it's very possible that you've already damaged yours with this post.

All IMHO, as always, of course.

May I get you to do the same please? I did the CAM thing to get the post deleted. I understand your point and didn't think this would be this much drama.

Thanks for deleting your comments.  For a couple of reasons, however, I think I'll leave my comments up, though:
1- We don't know how many people may have seen the original exchange and would not be aware that you'd manned up and removed the inappropriate comment.  Kudos to you for doing that, incidentally!

2- The whole thing took only a few moments for two members to make a similar mistake and for both mistakes to be corrected.  If I had tried, I could not have written a more succinct example of how members helping members can keep the forums on track and within the rules if we will only cooperate with each other.  I think it's a terrific example and I think it will be helpful for everyone, especially those who don't participate in the forums regularly to see it and we hope, learn from it.

As drama goes, this was pretty mild, but in an earlier day it might have turned into a train wreck within the same few posts.  It was only the fact that everyone cooperated that kept that from happening, so a big thank you all for that.

Thank you to everyone that deleted the reference to the person's name.  Also, I think Ray has done a great job of getting this thread back on track.

The original questions and comments are quite relevant.  It is quite reasonable for the OP to want to know if he has been scammed.  There is no reason why the topic can't be discussed so long as we don't name the MM member.

Ray has properly quoted the original post with the name removed.  Feel free to continue the discussion.   This can be a good, educational thread.

Here is the OP with the name redacted:

Sorry, I did not even consider it as an outing.

I just wanted to let everyone know the retoucher and I were able to reschedule and get things cleared up. Both of us actually had medical emergencies last night. The retoucher was amazing and thought me a lot about the work flow and the price was well worth it! I highly recommend them and if you want their contact information, feel free to get ahold of me!

Glad to hear a positive resolution to this!
