Im noticing more and more of the photographers i follow are now using instagram as their main place to put images.

Facebook, tumblr, etc are getting either ignored or only a few images now and then while a constant stream go into instagram.

Anyone else noticing this?

Its like technology is going backwards here and i now have to look at the images in lower size and resolution on an instagram converting website.

Do your images get more attention on instagram than anywhere else?

I wish I knew. I have a fear of Instagram regarding dubious ownership rumors that we're flying around a while ago.

My images get instant activity on instagram with the right hash tags. There's a touch more engagement on IG as well. It's also doesn't feel like I'm throwing images at an unfeeling, cold wall as it does on FB - FB still has use as a contact portal but I do like to post more images to IG. The only thing I wish they'd include is a follow through link on the images like there is on pinterest. You can pull up the image to the largest view on Pinterest, click it again and it takes you to the source which if that's your website it means more traffic to that. If IG included something like that it would be great. You can squeeze the link into the text portion but it would be cleaner to use the image.

I use IG heaps! My show order -Facebook> IG> Website> Twitter, but with the right hashtags, you can gather popularity on your specific image.

The 'community rules' on IG (and FB for that matter) would mean I would have to alter too many of my favorite photos. I'm on IG but not enthusiastically. Tumblr is my favorite.
