High End Retouching (Tutorial)
Because it is often asked here, I found a very deep tutorial for High End Retouching on CreativeLive from Pratik Naik. Covers all the basics from a practical point of view. https://www.creativelive.com/courses/ar … ratik-naik Jul 13 14 10:10 pm Link Basics and deep are opposite things. Don't you think? Jul 14 14 06:26 pm Link No, for me the use of healing brush, clone stamp, dodge and burn, frequency separation,... are basic methods, but they can be explained in depth. Jul 15 14 12:48 pm Link another money making projects. Jul 16 14 05:48 am Link Jaalpari wrote: One of the top retouchers has dedicated his time to show you the workflow. And he should've done that for free? Why? Jul 16 14 07:13 am Link It was free when it was broadcasted live, and it was a great course. I'm willing to be blown away by your reasoning but I'm not seeing it right now. Jul 21 14 04:07 am Link the entitlement of some posters is incredible lol Jul 21 14 05:39 am Link Jaalpari wrote: So what? isn't his time valuable? Jul 22 14 03:52 pm Link I could say allot about how I find creative live to be the cancer of the industry. But it really boils down to how Adobe has Abandoned the pro user in favor of the masses. So here the masses are, Lapping it all up. Jul 23 14 12:32 pm Link Nathanfx wrote: I'm curious. Say it. You can be in the studio audience, or 2. You can watch online free when they are live or rebroadcasting. They like an online audience because you can message in questions that they take and answer from time to time during the seminar. They are long seminars that usually last 2-3 days or more. Typically, I don't have such big blocks of time to watch the whole things start to finish so I miss part. Then I try to pick up parts I missed in the rebroadcast. Usually STILL miss some so then is when you feel like buying it for "anytime access" or if you want to watch it again. Plus they add "bonus" material if you purchase. So that's how they make money. They have some top instructors who would only do the seminar if paid. I don't think you can 'put them down' for not wanting to volunteer a few days' worth of time and instruction for no pay. I don't see what the gripe is. Creative Live is owned by Chase Jarvis in Seattle. As far as I've read he does not work for Adobe. They also offer courses on Corel Painter. Not sure about Capture One. They ask the instructors to include something for all levels of users. If a person already knows everything there is to know about everything, then they don't need to watch. I still don't see what the gripe is. Aug 24 14 03:45 am Link I found Lara Jade's creative live course to have the most practical advice for high end retouching (just watched it yesterday). It was mostly about shooting but the retouching parts were excellent. You would need to know the photoshop basics because she moves fast. Its tough to buy from creative live since some of the broadcasts just don't provide the value they claim too. Aug 24 14 04:58 am Link Not sure if the author can hold his promises, but it seems he's not just going to show the usual techniques, but also the concept to apply them in a good way. I liked his comment on "perfection through imperfection". It's good to see techniques applied by different advanced professionals, as it give you perspective. Is there any way to sample this seminar before buying it? I haven't heard of Creative Live so far - why should this be bad for the industry (as one poster said). There is still enough bad retouching around to feed a lot of retouching seminars. Aug 25 14 05:35 pm Link Nathanfx wrote: harsh words.. cancer.. want to back that up? Aug 25 14 08:49 pm Link I work in 'the industry' and I hadn't even heard of Creative Live, so I'm not sure how it's the 'cancer' of anything. Looks like a fairly good service to me, they're clearly picking good writers which is more than can be said of many tutorial sites. Aug 27 14 03:07 pm Link |
