Why am I losing detail after saving an image?
I'm editing using lightroom and photoshop but the finished images look different when I save them and view them on my desktop The one I have up in photoshop or lightroom has more detail, I can see the creases in the dress but when I open the saved document the dress is more bold and I can't see the creases anymore? Can anyone tell me why this is or what settings I need to change? Jul 21 14 02:39 pm Link What program are you using to view them? It's just not a good program to view photos. aaaaaaaaaac wrote: What do you mean by "bold and messed up?" Jul 21 14 03:28 pm Link The web likes jpeg images because they have small file sizes...but they take every 8 pixels and average them...and throw 7 pixels away. No wonder your images are loosing sharpness, details in the light and dark areas, and are loosing color and saturation. Be sure to save for the web and set the quality to as high as you can while still retaining an acceptable file size. Sometimes if you are using proRGB or Adobe RGB color profiles on some programs...they will have a wider and a higher number of colors they can see and print. When you go down to sRGB (the color space of web browsers and walmart printing processors) then you may see some of the colors go down...and thereby loose some detail too. You may also have a 16 bit and 8 bit issue.... These are just of the more typical "loosing image data" issues... you may have a totally different one... BUT ITS HARD TO TELL REALLY .... without a before and after picture example. Jul 22 14 11:13 am Link |
