I just got an email from a Dyesebel Catada a marketing representative for One Model Place asking to post a casting call I have up on here over there. Funny thing is I'm not a member of One Model Place. So what would be the point?

Well that and is it normal for One Model Place to do this? Like are thing so dead over at One Model Place that they have to play little tricks like this to stay relevant in the industry? Or what is the deal here?

Sounds like they may be getting pretty desperate if they are shopping the other model sites looking for castings.

They've been doing that for awhile.

If the request came from a different MM account, you may want to report it to the moderators at www.modelmayhem.com/contactamod

It's funny that OMP used to censor emails, messages, and portfolios by deleting the words ModelMayhem or MM.  They were afraid of losing members to MM.  I think that was one of the many reasons so many people left OMP and don't intend on ever going back.

Now they're beggin MM members to use their castings.

I heard from her as well, within the past week. She asked me if she could share my Casting Call with the models on OMP. At first I was like "sure!" to myself, but then I realized....the only Casting I had up, the one she was referring to, was for Makeup Artists and Hairstylists hmm  It's some kinda scam, or an attempt to drive MMers to *look at and consider OMP (I didn't).

I don't know, I don't think I ever met anyone that was interested  enough to find out.

Ha! big_smile

I remember getting the email saying they're going to start charging photographers. I didn't even know that I had an account there.... but come to find out I did. Who thunk!
I flagged their email as spam and haven't received anymore since.

They asked me to join earlier this year.  I checked them out and since it was free I joined.   Haven't shot anyone from there but I have communicated with a couple of models.  They even used some of my images in their showcase and one of the four scrolling images is my B&W headshot. Go figure.

OMP contacted me from a craigslist post, I tried researching the name of the sender but came up blank so figured it was spam, not an actual OMP rep.

Yes, they are so dead that they need to things like this, and, no, they ceased to be relevant several years ago.
