I am new at modeling and got an email from a big cosmetic company and I was wondering if anyone knew if it was a scam or not....PLEASE HELP!

"We will need your service for just two hours in taking the
pictures of you in a different poses. The company will be paying you the sum of $900 for your services for just two hours. Please be notified that your payment will be paid in two installments. We will be sending you a check payment of $2,450 which will include your part payment of $450 and the shooting materials fee. You are to deduct your part payment of $450 from the check after it was cleared into your account, then the remaining balance of $2000 should be remit by you to the store manager as the outfits payment for the shooting materials. Immediately the check was cleared,
you will be given an instruction on how to send the money and your
necessary statistics information to the store expertise. We're
entrusting you with the outfits payment because the payment have to go
to the store in your name in order to make the total corresponding with
your other details we will be sending to the store along with your
measurement. Once you received the payment from the
sponsorship of the event, you are to deduct your part payment of $450 and
then the left over balance should be sent to the
approved boutique store where all your shooting materials
will be sent from. And as soon as you sent the items fee to the store
manager, the items will be shipped directly to your provided address.
The store information and how to send them the money will be sent to
you as soon as you received the payment check."

Yes it's a scam.

No one pays you before doing a job and no one trust strangers to reallocate funds on their behalf. That would be crazy! big_smile

They send you a fake check, you deposit it. Then you send money in the form of your legitimate checks and leave your account in the negative. You end up owing the bank and they walk off with real money.

That's how it works.

Kudos for asking.  It is much better to ask if you are unsure rather than getting taken.
