Dressage.  It's magical to flow with a horse.  Then there's fox hunting.  Exhilarating.

Because horse.

Also, fencing.  Controlled and well-mannered violence.

The only one I actually follow (somewhat) is women's physique/bodybuilding.

I actually put on my OkC profile that if you actually want me to respond to messages, DO NOT invite me to go to Red Sox games with you. That's my criteria for the first round of eliminations; anyone who invites me to a team sporting event, ESPECIALLY a Red Sox game, is never going to hear from me again.

Irish Hurling  .  .  .  I'm pretty sure it was invented by the Irish just to give them a reason to bash each other with BIG sticks  .  .  .  do they even keep score  .  .  .  wink  Gaelic Football may be a close second, those guys think rugby players are sissies  .  .  .  wink

Drum and Bugle Corps.

There are a lot of people who don't consider it a sport, but they've never marched in a drum corps. If they had been out on the field, sweating through 12 hours of practice, then going from there to a competition, they'd change their minds. I marched for four years, and I was in the best shape of my life.

In this order. (as a spectator obviously)

1. Major league baseball
2. Major league soccer
3. NFL football

2 and 3 have flipped over the past few years. I am a ferry ride away from downtown Seattle. And a fairly short walk to Centurylink field, home of the Seattle Seahawks of the NFL and The Seattle Sounders, of major league soccer.   Safeco field, home of major league baseball's Seattle Mariners is a short walk from Centurylink.

I used to play Underwater Hockey. You play it in an olympic size pool. There are goal posts set up at each end of the pool and you putma brass puck in it with a short stick. If you like to breath the air is 13 feet above you.

Horse Racing. I love the beauty of the horses and spectacle of the sport,  and the bravery of horses and jockeys, the camaraderie, the fashion association, the common bond of passion that unites different classes and cultures, etc. I like the history, the geographic manifestations, the breeding, and the intellectual challenge of observation and studying to pick a winner, the traditions, the characters etc.
I am just a fan not a participant.

I also like it as a photographic subject. Some of my pics

This is me from The Racing Post modelling at the races with Leonna Mayor the jockey/model, and an old gentleman who was trying to convince us to bet a horse smile We liked this because nobody really wore leathers with millinery to the races before and
they questioned it. I tipped it as a look that would come in. Then eight months later the fashion editor of Vogue wore a leather jacket and similar disc hat to Royal Ascot smile

The last hockey game I saw was at Maple Leaf Gardens (Leafs vs The Winners) in 1999.
In that game the blood was on the ice... all over the ice - it was a complete brawl.
Our seats were rail seats (at the boards) - the glass panel 2 away from us was shattered during one of the fights.

Hockey is no longer high on my list wink

Cross country running and biking, yes I do them all the time. Yesterday was a 40 mile bike ride.

Its amazing because it gets me front and center in nature, its a get up and go sport. And self reliant.

Tennis!

Love the fact that it's just you against your opponent, love that feeling when you hit that sweet spot and send that ball down the tramline! Love the volleys and rally's, and love the ladies in their short skirts!

This!

And for 2014, Indycar and Formula 1 have been really exciting! The duel between Nico Rosberg and Lewis Hamilton has been a stem-winder! F1 drivers have been beating and banging on each other as if they were racing in NASCAR. In Indycar, Helio Castroneves has been putting on a terrific show this season. He just might be Indycar champ this year.

And a shout-out to Ken Schrader. Still racing in the ARCA series and winning a race or two. Way to go, Ken...

Olympic couch surfing.

Been training for decades, will compete when I finally perfect my form.

Why do I love it? Doh!

besides, while training I can watch some of the lesser sports on TV.

American Football (played in high school and college)
Baseball (never could hit a damn thing)

now for a quick power nap (all part of my training, I assure you!)

NFL football. I have been a fan since I was a child. I became an even bigger fan at age 12 when I was a cheerleader one summer. I watch the Olympics and love most of the events as well. I love the Triple Crown. It would be easier to name sports I don't like.

I'm spirited and passionate. How can I not like sports? I like them more than most men I date do.

Yerp.  Huge fan of NFL football, here!

And the Olympics...oh, yes!  My post above still stands as my favorites, but they're in the Olympics!

Rowing, which is to say, Crew-

For more than a few years I had an Alden Ocean Shell, and the camaraderie of a bunch of guys that I rowed with, sometimes racing.

We raced from the Isthmus to Avalon on Catalina one year, and then Goleta to Santa Barbara for Semina Nautica.

Each, about 12 miles.

Our leader, Frank, had competed in the Cal Berkeley heavy eight, for a school that had the fine history of three Olympic golds.

Nothing is more beautiful, more demanding, or more exhausting.

With a sliding seat boat, you work your legs, your abs, and, of course your arms.

And, unlike swimming, which I did for a while in my very youth, you don't bend over so the water can drain out of your sinuses after a race or workout.

Now...?

I'm old, and occasionally post to the Mayhem forums.

Sometimes fun, but a fool's game.

The old guy didn't do to bad at Eldora either! Beat his way into the main and ended up 4th. I wish NASCAR would get back onto more dirt.

This year, the season started with an amazing 24 hours of Daytona at with the reunited sports car classes. The last lap battle between the Audi and Ferrari, after racing for 24 hours, was one of the best in years.

F1 finally has some racing again. No longer hi speed parades and Indy cars put on the best show in racing, with my favorite races being Texas and Richmond. The latter, the first time they ran there, Eddie Cheever said was like tring to fly fighter planes in a gymnasium.

As a Spectator this ^ The action is intense.

Horse racing, who doesn't like the GG's.

Auto racing. Not fond of NASCAR but enjoy the Indy's and Drags.

As a Player, not that I've played in Years but Cricket, Soccer and Rugby, the Sports raised on.

NFL football. The combination of power and finesse, complexity, tactics/strategy and just plain excitement is not matched in any other sport, IMHO of course, lol.

Sometimes NCAA basketball (the tournament) or tennis.

I played baseball competitively for the majority of my life and it's always been the top of my list...But it's pretty tough being a Mets fan. I played a lot of football growing up, and it's (usually) not too bad being a Giants fan...So NFL has topped MLB for me. But both sports are still fun to play.

Though personally I don't consider it a sport Parkour has been evolving into that it seems over the past few years. These days it's much easier to go out any train alone than it is getting a group of people together or joining a team to play baseball or football.
