Hey MM! I was hoping for some help coming up with a modelling/stage name! I'm really interested in burlesque, so I want to come up with a name that can double as both a performer and a model. I've been trying to come up with a name for the last 2 years (literally), but nothing sounds right. I've only preformed a couple of shows in troupes and I've been modelling for about a year. But I have some performances in the works (September/October) so it would great to have a name nailed down for those. My stage persona is cute, bubbly and naive - but with an unexpected vixen side, so I've been trying to think of names that are bitter-sweet. Like a dessert (I've been going by simply "cake" but found another model has that name in the area). Initially the name was based on being platinum blonde, but I change my hair too frequently so it doesn't really fit anymore anyway. I've been going through random words, cakes, desserts, colours... Shimmering Blush, Glitter, Sparkle, Cake, Fluffy, Bittersweet, Shimmer, Lavender, Nyx, Moon, Luna, Lilac, Luster, Rouge, Rebel, Red Velvet... I'd just love any suggestions at this point - I feel like I've hit a wall. Anything at all! Hoping something might spark new ideas at the very least. Thanks!! xx

Thanks!! xx I can see why you've spent 2 years thinking about this Based on the fact that you want the name to do double duty in terms of representing you as both a model and a performer and noting the persona of the latter I've come up with some names that may work: Chai Madeline (Based on the spiced tea and the sponge cake, a decent pairing in terms of both a name and a snack) Ginger Del Rey (Based on the spice which has a bit of a kick and singer Lana Del Rey who has a pretty coquettish vibe) Honey Black, Peaches Black, Clementine Black, Anjou Black or Jordan Black (Based on the fact that honey, peaches, clementines, pears and Jordan almonds are all sweet and the color black is associated with a dark side) Charlotte Graham (Based on the dessert made with ladyfingers and graham crackers) Sherry Pepper (Based on the alcohol and the spice) Coco Waldorf (Based on cocoa which can be quite bitter but is generally thought of as sweet and the salad) I hope that even if you don't select any of these that they help you find a name you love.

Here are some good examples and some examples to avoid: Good Names: Mercedes, Sable, Lexus, Sierra, Cheyenne, Liberty Bad Names: Gremlin, Spyder, Rolls, Viper, Ram, Probe

There's always the old rule of stripper names... First name is your first pet's name, last name is the street you grew up on/were born on, etc.

Don't use anything with "Lynn" on the end unless you want to be a porn star.

I like Red Velvet, but I think what other people think of the name is also important. It may mean something to you but something else to someone else, and other people/audience might also get the wrong impression. Also, depending on which country you are from, or culture, one name can mean something else.
