i'm tall and thin and it's a struggle for me to gain weight, I stopped trying about a year or two ago.

i've come to terms that I just naturally have a small bone structure. I'm not bony but I look tiny.

Own it! I consider my natural weight and frame as part of my unique look and "brand" as a model. I know it makes me different and therefore has been a draw for many photographers with whom I have worked.

your measurements don't seem to be far from what agencies would be looking for.

Agreed. Super slim to the average person is standard.

I am guessing just about every other standard model out there.  Your height and weight are in the norm for professional models, check in with some legit agencies and see what they think.

Slim, skinny, thin, small boned, and bone definition are all different attributes.

You can have large bones, little meat, and be considered skinny, but still look big.

Or weak bone definitions, but long and slim, but not a good defined model.

There are so many factors that come into play when it comes to even just being "slim".

You are very, very lucky.

Most people struggle to keep fat off their bodies.

I absolutely cannot understand people who are sad about being ectomorphic, especially women. You guys can put on only 3 pounds of lean muscle, and look ripped. People like me can build and build and build, then have to spend months restricting calories and starving ourselves, before any of the hard work will even show. Omg, what I'd give to be a scrawny little bitch. You have nooo idea.

113lbs with a 32DD bra size. I haven't been able to go out for Fashion gigs  because although everything else about me may be industry standard, my bra size is not the b cup that they request. Oh well, I get in where I fit in, when I fit in.

I say own it, but if you haven't already try some bodybuilding. Someone with a small frame like yours could likely get some beautiful tone with not as much effort as say, me.

Hi,
Hello fellow ectomorph, (although after 15 years of hard working out I did get bigger.) I'm that bigger now and I'm not sure how much of it was time and age or working out but, I think my legs are all from working out, (see how they are NOT skinny anymore at all.)

Just be safe!
Jen
p.s. I remember when I first started to workout/bodybuild, I felt like a freakin horse in how much and how often I had to eat!! That was such a high calorie regimen and so structured. I give body builders loads of credit just in their nutrition discipline alone.

I think you don't look that small at all. Maybe because I'm used to working with a lot of models that look much smaller than you.

There are many other tall slender models, and models with very small bone structure... lovingly referred to as bird bones.

You and they are wonderful exactly as you are, and to thine own self be true, so simply do what makes you happy with you.

The end?

Hi,
I could be wrong but I think she was referring to the regular non-model world.

Chasing that ideal is going to be hard but, I like the "be true" post.

It's weird how big normal people (non-models) are lol. It's annoying when stores don't carry xs.

I'm the same! I'm really slim too and just cannot seem to put on weight. But you look great, I honestly wouldn't worry about it. You have a great portfolio.

I once knew a girl who was too beautiful, she didn't know what to do about it. So then she learned to live with it.

Yes.

I spent the past summer studying in China, where almost everyone is slim. Coming back to America is almost like a culture shock.

Don't worry about your weight.
At some point in later life you may gain weight and you'll wish for younger days.

I was tall and very thin at your age.  I ate everything and couldn't gain weight.
Girls wouldn't go out with me because I was too thin.

When I hit my early thirties I decided to gain weight so I ate like a pig. Kielbasas, eggs, cheese, etc.  I finally gained weight.

Now I'd like to get rid of my extra weight but it's damn hard.

Be happy with what you got. You look great! smile

I've had all these problems too! Haha
Like when the clothing reviews at some designer store say to size down and you're already the smallest size, it's just like ughhh. But on the upside I pretty much eat anything I want whenever I want. I like that part. But people being insensitive and telling me to gain weight when it's physically impossible for me are just annoying. I'm a strong advocate for not commenting on someone's weight, no matter what side of the spectrum you fall on. smile everyone is beautiful, every body is beautiful. And especially in modeling, all sorts of body types are amazing!

Better to be a little bit thin, than too heavy. Remember, the camera adds at least 5 lbs. to you, to start with. There are a lot of models who would like to have your "problem". LOL.

I recently started lifting weights so I can gain some mass.

While I wouldn't classify myself as "really slim" (just "regular slim"), I have never desired to gain or lose weight, since either way I would just have to buy new clothes (and not be able to wear my favorite older clothing items)! I have, on occasion, wanted to gain some muscle tone- but I am just too lazy to go to the gym...

Why do you want to gain weight? I don't want to sound rude but if you were agency signed you would be considered "too large" and end up doing catalogues and swimwear. I was 79cm-58cm-89cm when I got signed and EVERYONE was telling me I was too large on my hips.

So, no. You're just fine. Hot and fine! wink
