The new and recently added "LUT Adjustment Layer" in Photoshop is a totally amazing and visually exciting addition to the image and color adjustment tools!!! ( LUT = Color Look Up Table...Adjustment layer.)

The movie industry has been using this LUT color correction technology for years... to give us all kinds of new and great creative color looks... and visual mood themes...within the blockbuster movies we all love to watch.  Every movie being produced these days gets extensively color corrected and color graded...to give it visual perfection.  Thats how the movie world uses this technology... BUT... I don't do movies... im just a Still Photographer, or a Retoucher... SO... how can I benefit from this Hollywood color magic in my images... or in my Photoshop work?

My question is: "What are some of the new visual and creative uses we will now be able to do with this new LUT technology inside of Photoshop for the first time?"

Im hoping that this thread might become a collection of examples about the creative, and artistic, and visual things I can now do better, faster, and more creatively in Photoshop.  There are already several other threads here on some of the technical aspects of LUT's.

If you find some of these new creative examples of what you can do with LUT's... Tell us... and show us...and give us links to what we can do with this new color manipulation tool!  Get me excited about WHY I should care about LUT's in my photography, or retouching, or digital art.

Hollywood has had this robust visual color manipulation technology in its hands for the video and the movie industry for years... Now that it is inside of Photoshop...what can we Still Photographers, and Retouchers, and Digital Artists do with this same visual powerhouse in our own hands...Using still images??

Whats possible?  Show me!  Tell Me.  What kind of crazy amazing stuff can we do with this!!

Thanks for posting about this I haven't heard of LUT until now! I'm looking at it now, are there plug-ins that we download or just add another image? I've never used it beefore.
