Ok. So I got an email from a women stating she wants to work with me. I reply on what. She said what ever project you're working on.

I ask what she do and she replies she's a model. I ask to see her portfolio and she seem ordinary. I told her maybe she can work with some of the new makeup artist I'm working with.

She then sends me a contract that states she want $600 and hour and full ownership of copyright with a terms on how to transfer the rights to her.

LMAO!!! Should I be so stupid to pay?

Why would you contact me then try to charge me?

What do I get in return?
Can I sell the images for one million and keep 100% of the profits?

Should I charge the same fee for the images if she want to use the for her portfolio?

I have often gotten emails from higher end and sometimes low end models saying the same thing. After that first email she will start begging for a TF shoot! then soon after she is going to be offering you your rates

lol happens all the time

some of these ladies would do well to read the forums so they understand what world they're in here. i hired a Playboy model for $125/hour and she didn't request copyright.

Pay a rate well beyond anything normal and give up copyright - I don't see anyway to recoup an investment on that.

Personally, I've found that when a model has crazy demands it's not even worth trying to negotiate.   Politely decline and more onto more reasonable models.

There is absolutely nothing wrong with someone contacting you, seeking paid work.  Indeed, traveling models need to be able to do this.

Everyone has the right to ask for whatever compensation he/she wants.
Everyone else has the right to accept, decline, or make a counteroffer.
Sometimes the best deal is to walk away.

Sure, if you want to be an asshole about it.

Look -- it's not our jobs to educate models.  It's also not our job to set anyone else's rates.  Why all the drama?  Just say, "no, thank you".

If she gets people to meet her terms, more power to her.

If she doesn't get people to meet her terms, she'll either relax her terms or get out of the business -- either way, problem solved.

Don't you have better things to do?

In life you will get many offers ranging from awesome to awful. I respond to good values even if they are not the right choice at the time in hopes of maintaining the relationship and offer in the future.  For awful offers, I simply ignore them because any more effort is clearly a waste of time.  Several people in the modeling industry have a highly inflated value with no basis in reality, but they can only waste your time if you let them.

+1

For several reasons, I feel pleased when someone wants to work with me regardless of who wants to be paid.

Don't stoop down to her level.  Ignore her.

Well, in my logic, if you are that exceptionnal photographer with whom I absolutely want to work with, I will try to obtain a TF, and if impossible, I will pay you.
But I do not see myself request a photographer to pay me if I contact him/her...

Some models contact me and I contact some models.  I always pay both.

I guess that I'm not "that exceptionnal photographer with whom [you] absolutely want to work with."

I'm crushed!!!

Ohhh no, sorry if my spelling is wrong... I do not meant that...
If I want to get paid, I will make a casting call... Or answer to a paid casting call.
If I contact you, it is because I want to work with you, because I like your port, so in this case, I will not request to pay me, but maybe request to do a test, or TF with you...

But I do not know how to tell without crushing or hurting photographers here... So I wont tell it, but I let you imagine what I mean...

Really sorry, I do not wish to crush or to hurt someone...
Respect, always wink
