Last "official" holiday weekend of the summer.  The propane tank is full and so is the fridge.

Tonight - portobello mushrooms, grilled with garlic and salt, served on Greek pita bread with fresh mozzarella and basil

Friday - flat iron steaks, grilled with a salt crust, smoked with fresh green vine maple.  Served with my wife's potato rolls & fresh cherry tomatoes.

Saturday - salmon filets, grilled with dill, garlic, pepper and a touch of ginger in a dense cloud of apple wood smoke.  Along side Peg's potato salad and steamed broccoli.

Sunday - butter-basted pork ribs and grilled potato slices, both with lots of salt, pepper, garlic, paprika and turmeric.

What are you grilling this weekend?

Soapbox is closed!

I don't think we are allowed to discuss Labor Day. It's a celebration of unions and the Labor movement.

Does not apply.  I'm starting a vacation in about 2 1/2 hours, so no Labor will be involved...

I grill 4-5 nights a week year round.

This particular weekend, homemade Italian sausage, country ribs, and some dead chicken. smile

We grill all the time. We don't need a holiday as a reason to grill. The only way to grill is charcoal/wood. We actually smoked a turkey last Thanksgiving on his grill. We'll grill in any weather all year round.

His family is coming in town suddenly and we usually grill when they're here so we'll probably grill chicken with some sort of homemade marinade (Jamaican jerk or cilantro honey lime, tandori or something...) and grill sauce, steak, and sausages and eggplant/zucchini. It seems like people are weird about grilled bellas which is completely weird to me but maybe we'll grill those and stuff it with caprese.

Geeeeezzzzz, I can remember bein' young and wild, Labor Day weekend usually meant endin' up gettin' "grilled" at the local police station for some wacked out thing or 'nother  .  .  .  wink  Think I'll stick to a nice steak, and a relaxing day on da couch  .  .  .
