I wasn't sure where to put this question or it it's even possible to answer.  Anyways my computer has been acting funky for a week or so and I was going to reinstall windows to fix whatever has been making it crash.  However this means that all my lightroom settings will be wiped as well.  Since I do a decent amount of editorial work (and don't have a lot of memory to run tons of images in PS) I import the finished PS files into lightroom and make final tweeks to the images there where I can easily compare 2-6 images side by side and make changes when needed.

Is there any way to export these settings onto my hard drive so I can reload them all when I re install lightroom or will I have to find a more tedious way light writing it all down or taking screen caps of the settings?

They are all saved in a folder somewhere.

I don't know PCs enough to tell you how to find it. On a Mac you got library>application support>Adobe>lightroom>develop settings

All of your presets are there.

There must be a PC equivalent.

In Lightroom, click preferences then the presets tab, there should be a button that shows the preset location, then you can save that folder along with the catalog folder.

I have done this a bunch of times but it involves planning before hand
I copy all the LR folders to another HD before wiping my system drive
I reinstall LR then overwrite with previous data
This only works if you org files are in the same location as they were on previous setup
I keep all data on different drive than my system for exactly this reason

One long shot is to use the System Image back up to restore your system
IF you windows install is corrupt I dont think this is likely to help though

Laura, are you talking about individual photograph settings or recipe customizations?
