Not impressed by what I saw in the video as far as quality of the flames. But it looks like a cool new tool.

This flame filter looks interesting, but I will continue to use actual fire source imagery when I want "fire" in a composite/manipulation. I can definitely see that filter being used in so many creative ways outside of what it was intended for by its designers (same as many other tried-and-true PS features we use in sooo many unintended ways).

Haha, not even the narrator of the video seems that impressed by the filter.

You could probably search for the stock, download and place in the time it takes Photoshop to actually apply the filter. It's that slow.

It's fun, and I like the versatility but it takes a lot of work to get the flames even close to realistic.

At a glance, I like it! But, as others suggest, I wouldn't use it for realistic fire effects. If it's flexible enough and can produce sharp detail at higher resolutions, it could very well save me some time rendering effects in Apophysis, though. Maybe it's time to upgrade and try it out.

Did you see all the new in-app tutorials?

Camera Raw is now a filter.

You can invoke it on any layer any time in your workflow. Make the layer a smart object and your camera raw filter will be non-destructive.

That's kind of strange. I just updated my PS CC and these features aren't in there.
