This image just seems very surreal to me... I'd imagine at first glance alot of people would expect a romantic image. An easy assumption to make given the soft focus and lighting combined with the intimate domestic surrounding of a bedroom, and that the model would appear wistful or pensive, very at ease. Yet when I let my eyes linger for a minute so that I could take the image in, her expression struck me as anything but - she seems almost confrontational or indignant & uncomfortable - but still not out of place with her environment either (like an "overnight guest" might); for whatever reason the rollers in her hair seem to just further emphasize the strange disjunction of moods in the photograph to me. Domestic tension maybe? Who knows - I'm just certain that I LOVE this shot!
