Seminar Info...

How many participants?
We are purposely keeping the class to a modest size (limit of 10) to allow the freedom of Q&A throughout the afternoon.

What would be covered?
Workshop will give participants instruction in the use of various
studio lighting equipment including strobe lights, soft boxes, reflectors and many other types of lighting equipment. We will have a live model to demonstrate and show how each light effects the subject. This event is designed to be fun and a great learning experience in a easy going environment.

What should I bring?
Lighting equipment will be provided (strobe lights, soft boxes,
reflectors, etc). Attendees should bring their own cameras, lens (50-100mm range), and plenty of memory to shoot. Your camera should have adjustable shutter speed and aperture as well as some sort of external flash connector, either a hot shoe or PC plug. Contact me if you have any questions.

Who should attend?
This workshop is aimed to the beginner/mid photographers that want to improve their lighting technique, and those who are not too familiar with studio lighting.

Can I record the seminar?
A powepoint presentation will be provided to minimize your need to take notes. All the material covered in the seminar is on the presentation including a diagram of all the lighting techniques.

TFP/TFCD/Testing Policy
If I offer or accept a test session with you, it's either because I think that you have a unique look that I don't have in my portfolio. Or I think that you have a commercially viable look, and I feel that I can find a buyer for the images.

Don’t be late…
I put a great deal of time and effort into discussing and planning a shoot. My time is extremely valuable and extremely limited. Therefore, if we agree to collaborate I intend to be prompt and focused; I expect no less from you and the people I work with.

I take my photography very seriously as it is our full time occupation. If we schedule a shoot, please be prompt in your responses and plan to confirm the shoot by PHONE. If you cancel a shoot for any reason, there is a 99.99% chance that you will NOT get another opportunity to shoot with us. Please do not waste my time, I guarantee that I will not waste yours…

Model Release
Every model is required to sign a model release prior to the shoot, no exception. You’ll have an opportunity to read it before you sign it. If you don’t like what it says than we will not shoot. If you have signed a model release before than this is probably very similar. That means this is not a document for you to edit and add your special stipulations. We have a really high reputation and we expect to keep it that way. If you think we want to place your images in some type of porn website, simply get out of my studio.

If you are under 18, you must bring a parent or legal guardian with you. The parent or guardian must fill out and sign a model release for prior to the shoot. No exceptions.

Do you give me, or send me a CD of all the images?
In the case of TFCD, I will provide the model with two retouched images per outfit. Yes, I know you want more but that is where paid assignments come in. Besides, what’s the point of having 5-6 images of the same outfit in your portfolio? It’s just going to look boring and amateur. At no time will I ever send anyone, the original RAW or high resolution unedited files.  I've had some bad experiences in the past, with unedited files being posted on various modeling websites. So to protect the integrity of my product, I've adopted the policy of not providing the original files. No exceptions.

Do you allow the models to retouch the images themselves?
I've spent a great deal of time and effort perfecting my digital workflow, to get my images to look the way that they do. I’ve been working with Photoshop since version 7.0 and I’m in the process of becoming and Adobe Certified Instructor. If a model thinks they can do better than I like to hire them. Therefore, under not circumstance will the model do any type of additional edit or retouching to the final images we provide. If you don’t like our style why did you shoot with us in the first place?

It’s important to understand that I retain all rights to any image I shoot. This means that I own the image. What you receive or purchase are the "limited usage rights" to my photos. I spell those out in detail in the model release that I require of every model I work with. This applies to all projects

What's your studio like?
Our entire basement is dedicated for our studio. It’s a really comfortable environment with lots of capabilities. Almost all of the studio images you see in my gallery were taken in out studio, so the quality that you've seen, is what you can expect in your images. If you think you need a really big expensive commercial building to get some great creative images than you are an idiot and I don’t want to work with you. If we need to do a really big shoot involving more than 15 people than we rent the studio at PPR in downtown Atlanta.

Do you allow the model to bring a chaperone or as I call them “bodyguard”?
Yes, I do allow and encourage female models to bring a bodyguard. However I don't allow anyone else in the camera room during the actual shooting.  I've found that additional people in the camera room can be a distraction and makes it hard for the model to concentrate.

Do you provide the wardrobe?
I usually rely on the models to bring along their own clothing. I take an active interest in helping the model decide on outfits. The more I know about what a model is going to bring, the better I can plan the session and develop ideas.

Do you provide a hair stylist and/or a makeup artist?
My normal pricing does not include either a hair stylist or makeup artist, but I can hire one if you desire those services for your session.

Do you work with Managers?
I will not work with ANYONE who uses a manager or agent. I'm not interested in corresponding with your dad, boyfriend, manager, agent or anyone else about working with you. Also, I don't contact models whose profiles list a "manager or agent." My reputation is well respected in this industry; your boyfriend's isn't. The top models on Model Mayhem don't have managers or agents; you shouldn't either.

PLEASE don’t contact me because you want to shoot, and then tell me to contact you management! If you want tell your management to contact me.

Friends Requests
Friends are those individuals that you have had communication and share common goals and beliefs. If you send me a friend request, we should have had at least some type of communication - OTHERWISE - WHY APPLY? If you just like my or other people’s work, than that’s what FAVORITES are for. I will only send and accept friend requests from those that I have and want to work with or like to professionally associate with.
