I specialize in photographing fine art nudes in the Lake Superior landscape. Models must be fit, have a natural look, and be comfortable traveling by kayak. For me, the landscape comes first, and the model provides another way for the viewer to experience the scene vicariously (through the model). I have worked with nudes since 1996, primarily with my wife, doing our book, A Voice Within — The Lake Superior Nudes. Each year I select one or two models to work with for a few days on Superior.

My fine art nudes are in major collections, such as the Museum of Fine Arts, Houston, and many private collections. My individual nudes have won a Bronze Award in B&W magazine, and an honorable mention in this year's International Photography Awards. have done 17 books. I teach photography workshops, including nudes in the landscape for programs such as: Dillman's; Fotofusion; Palm Beach Photographic; Madeline Island School of the Arts.
