Feng Lin was born in Guangdong, China. Lin began to develop his interest in photography when still a teenager. He studied photography at Guangdong Photography Association, where he also got the Award of Excellence in a photo competition in 1996.

From 1997 to 1999, Lin worked as a full-time photographer and special column producer for Canton Television, after which he immigrated to Canada.

In Toronto Lin freelanced for print and online medias including Asianwave Magazine, where he covered important sports such as NBA, MLB and MLS. He was also the official photographer covering major events for two charitable organizations. Being the primary photographer for a wedding studio for two years, he had sharpened his skills of shooting bridal and family portraits in house and out door. He won the Award of Excellence in 2008's Photography Competition by City of Toronto. He is also a member of Chinese Canadian Photography Institute.

Lin broadened his knowledge on photography by studying at New York Institute of Photography in 2010. Now he is based in Toronto Ontario, Canada.

His project--" New York Touch" was exhibited at City Hall of Toronto and Chinese Cultural Centre of Greater Toronto in 2014. He is shooting his next project--"Loneliness" for photo festival 2015 now.
