American Peyote

I'm a combination writer and photographer, looking for ways to mix different media together to communicate ideas.  In general I like to create images that borrow elements from photography and illustration, although I can take nice portraits, I generally like hints of strangeness to enter into the process.

How I work:

When an idea comes around I start by sketching out how I want the final image to appear.  This involves basic drawing and shadowing with Manga markers.  From there I add lighting info and notes on post-processing.  Sometimes I use myself as a model, other times I work with other photographers and act as either model or photographer.  In the final stages I go into Photoshop and bring the final image into being.  Sometimes extensive work is needed, sometimes the shadows just need a tad of adjustment.

I'm currently based in Winterthur, Switzerland but also visit Michigan about once a year.  In Winterthur I have a small apartment studio, but I'm also mobile and taking my lights where they're needed.
